I Went on a Shopping Spree

I haven't been on a shopping spree in a while but this morning I was watching QVC and saw a Susan Graver black flowered dress that I really liked. Dresses are one thing that I don't have many of. I decided to buy it and also a blue tunic to wear with leggings.
That wasn't too bad about $90. But then they come on with an iPad mini. It was on sale and included a keyboard case, 32 GB, a carry case, ear buds, car charger, wall charger, stylus and more. It was was available on 6 easy payments. I have always wanted an iPad since i love my iPhone.
You guessed it, I bought it. It should be here in 5 days or so. I am not usually so impulsive, well okay I did decide to buy the house in Florida in one day sight unseen and well yes I did walk in and say yes to my new car the first time I saw it!!! Maybe I am impulsive!!
I think I need to slow down a bit and let my credit card rest!! How about you, have you done anything impulsive lately?

I am refusing to feel guilty, I worked hard for many years to allow myself to have a few luxuries and I know I will love the mini!!

Not with money, dear. I am retired and I have to live within my budget so that I can save for my only luxury which is vacations every year.

lol While this is impulsive of me I can afford to do it so I won't be giving up my vacations either. I do live frugally most of the time.

@BelleStarr It's different where I'm from. Living in Asia, girls are expected to be petite. I do envy women in America because you have more choices there. Here, plus sized clothes are limited and often, the styles are not so good and expensive. This is why I often log into Amazon, Mango, H&M, Lindy Bop and Holy Clothing to browse and imagine myself in a cute dress that I like.

@maxen07 America does idealize the female form as thin as well but God gives each of our our own shape and we need to love ourselves whatever size we are.

Why would people say something, actually a dress depending on the style can make you look much slimmer, I am hoping mine will !!

I had people I trusted implicitly representing me. Our mechanic has sold us 7 or 8 great cars previously and always takes good care of me and hubs brother and his wife found the house for us so I knew it would be okay, lol

@BelleStarr I mean it. I have a laptop, plain printer and a flip phone. No other tech. Oh, a simple DVD player too.

As much as I want to be impulsive, my budget does not permit it unfortunately
However, if in case I do get a chance, I might get an upgrade for my laptop or complete our house construction

@BelleStarr I kind of have an idea that you are older than me (for one you already have a daughter working - based on my other post) and I am happy that you can afford to be impulsive because some can't. Such is life.
Thanks! We do try and budget but we still have a few debts that we need to settle before I can really say that we are debt free.

I am much older than you I think and have reached a different point in my life. I can afford to be impulsive. You are very smart to live within your budget, it makes life much easier not to have debt.

Yes I think so, I have plenty of clothes , though I will be buying a few more bathing suits. Swimming three days a week in a pool means that bathing suits take a beating.

@Juliaacv Yes and our instructor was talking abut being dehydrated causing muscle aches so that may be part of the issue. I a really loving the exercise.

I love my iPad you will too. I have to see the clothes on me before I buy them so I don't do that on line. They sound beautiful!

I am used to QVC fashion having bought a lot so I know the designers and the styles I like. I rarely have to return anything. The shirt I was wearing when we met was Denim and Company from QVC and yes, lol I bought it big!!

I think we all need to splurge once in a while within our own means. I would not spend money I would not afford.

@BelleStarr Same here. I might splurge this month, since this is my birthday month. Subway sandwiches, Chinese food or pizza. Yum!

When I was working in the bank, I was an impulsive buyer. Using my credit card I just bought anything even if they were not needed. Then I realized it was not good to be impulsive.

It is just alright to purchase it because you can use those gadgets in your online work; and so with the clothes that you said looks nice too.
