Can you believe it? It's already May 1st. I'm praying that today is a day when everyone gets warm sunshine and for those areas that were inundated with far too much rain may this sunshine last no less than a week.
I've always loved to read about events in ancient cultures and runnin round the maypole was a fun read and I wish I had been included in one. Well, not anymore of course, I haven't been able to run in decades as I'd end up flat on my face or butt.

i'd make 'bout 2 steps myself, lol. i fear that 'tis downright cold'n these parts with a high'f only 46 degrees predicted. factor'n the winds 'n we're sittin' with a 32 degree windchill currently. nothin' like a 30+ temp drop to put a damper'n the start'f may.

Well, 10 to 15 ain't too bad, not that I'd want it to be like that all season, but I really don't like the 30 to 50 mph @crazyhorseladycx can't stand dust burgers.

Ummmm, I don't even know how to begin to do that @CRK109 besides, with the way the rain dances backfire I'd really hate to get anymore sun than we already get, it was 92 yesterday and it's going to be 81 today, if I did a sundance we'd probably get over 100.

The town I was in previously had a May Day celebration a couple of weeks into the season. It highlighted youth activities and they always had fifth grade girls wind a may pole.

Oh how kool .... I'd always thought that there were supposed to be boys and girls winding round the maypole.

We have seen Maypole dancers at a Renaissance Fair and we even got to dance around the poll ourselves if we wanted to. I didn't do much I will say lol

The only things we heard here was some complaining about bills being due (of course) and the storms that are keeping all things moist!

Well, it's not surprising. Seems that the whole mayday pole dancin was more of a celtic festival which not many here in the USA bother with, it's a shame really.
If you want you could send that moisture our way, we sure could use it.

I've heard of the Maypole dance but haven't ever participated in one. I wouldn't be able to run around one either

I can't remember where I was when I made this screen shot, it looks like so much fun.
I wish people here knew what it was but whenever I've mentioned it they just look at me as if I were jokin.
