Missing a day

I can't believe I've missed the whole day. I got up this morning and medicated my headache and put in my eye drops then tried to listen to a broadcast on my phone. I think I dozed through most of it but I was awake at the end so I hung up the phone and put up my ear phones and decided to rest a minute until everyone else got to moving around. Next thing I knew it was after five PM and I was just waking up. When I asked my daughter why she had my door shut she said because I was listening to my broadcast. I told her I wasn't listening that long and she said yeah but I figured you went back to sleep. I told her that I did but I didn't intend to sleep all day. Now I'll probably be up all night long. Oh well there is always mylot and if my eyes get to tired looking at print I can break it up by streaming a movie. How many times have you slept a day away? Were you aggravated with yourself for doing it?

@crazzydolphin I used to be that way too but things have changed now that I'm older and probably because I was sick for so long.

I used to be a morning person Toni. As a child I always had to get up early to milk the cows and do other chores before school. I think I have lived in town too long now. I've gotten spoiled and my body rhythm is out of wack.

Sadly for me it does not matter what time I go to bed I seem to always wake up early. I have a hard time sleeping at night so I wake up a lot! I have always been a morning person to, my grandparents were always getting up early for us to do things but I am happy about that now

I have done this a few times! I have a hard time sleeping at night sometimes rather I am up all day or had any sleep or if I slept all night long the night before and had a nap. There are days I will be laying on my bed on my laptop and the next thing I know I am waking up hours later wondering how on earth I managed that! At least you have MyLot to keep you busy there is always something to do here. I will be getting off to play Modern Warefare with my husband here soon, thought when I cant sleep MyLot is where I disappear to as well! Have fun and good luck on getting some sleep tonight

Have you ever went to sleep while typing on your laptop to wake and find a string of some letter repeated all the way across the page? I used to be a merchandiser/mystery shopper and I would work all day making store visits and then type up my reports at night. There were several nights I had to do a lot of editing on the narratives because I fell asleep while typing.

@savak03 Oh yes, I have done that. A long string, often of "L" or "k". I think I would like to get back to mystery shops if I had a car I could count on.

@savak03 Oh man I have done that more times than i can count!! There has been a few times I was talking a friend of my sister on Facebook and I would accidently send her a list of random letters...in the morning I have a message asking me what on earth was going on Funny times, funny times I have always wanted to be a mystery shopper! Though it is hard to find legit ones around here so I gave up looking and trying to!

Yes, I hate getting my days and nights mixed up. Here it is almost five AM and I am finally getting tired. I'm going to go to sleep now but I have set an alarm to wake me up at a reasonable time in the morning. I am going to try to get myself back on track. The funny thing is that if I let my daughter sleep like that she gets on to me for it and here she did the same thing to me. Go figure.

I have not slept that much of a day away, but even a couple of hours of nap that I did not plan on makes me feel as if I have lost something. I have not run across you in a while, so I am going to check in with you this morning.

I have been on here in spurts. It was hard for awhile because I had been sick for a long time and just didn't have the ambition to do anything. Then I discovered I had cataracts and was almost blind in one eye because of it and the other one wasn't to good either. But the surgery is behind me now and I can see a lot better. I'm feeling better now too. One reason I think is because now that I can see again I'm making plans to regain my drivers license and a car so I can get out of the house on my own again. Plus, I think I got inspired when mylot offered payout at a reduced rate for March and April. That got me to thinking that I could really do this and I've always loved interacting with my friends on here. Nothing beats a payout to motivate a person to greater activity.

I had worked nights on most of the jobs I held. It was usually easier to get hired if you would accept the night shift so it became what I usually requested when asking for a job. The problem I found with that was that when I got home I would go to bed and sleep until it was almost time to go to work again. The last night shift job I had was third shift so I didn't have to go into work until eleven pm. I got off at seven am so you can see how I was sleeping my life away. I gave it some thought and came up with a solution though. A person who works days gets up, has breakfast, and goes to work. When they get off it is usually still daylight and they have chores to do or places to go and other people to interact with. Then they go to bed at a normal bedtime and sleep for seven or eight hours and start all over again the next morning. So, I decided that the mistake I was making was going to bed when I got home from work. From then on I made myself stay up and do the things that normally needed doing like cooking, cleaning, shopping, ect. I counted for eight hours of sleep and one hour to get woke back up and went to bed at two pm. This worked out well for me and I was able to feel more human and alive instead of like a robot who only worked and recharged.

It's been a long time since I remember losing a whole day like that and it's disconcerting because I was just getting my ambition to start getting up and doing stuff to try to get my strength back after being sick for so long. So I feel like this is a setback.

@softbabe44 Oh, I think I will. I went to the doctor yesterday for my routine monthly visit and asked him to refer me to physical therapy. Now that the eye surgeon has released me to normal activity I intend to get moving again but I know I'm going to need some help. I have my first visit next Tuesday.
