Morning Run and Torchers

Stepped out earlier to go on a morning run. It felt good getting into my running shoes and feeling the road under my feet. Each stride felt like I was getting closer to my imaginary finish line. Anyway, aside from the good exercise, another bonus was seeing some familiar faces in the runners path that I went to. Some smiled at me. Others nodded a 'Hello!' and yet others actually asked how I have been and why it was only now that I showed up again. I said that I was running a different route, one that is closer to home and that I was running at an earlier time. Anyway, it was nice to see some friends again. I now resolve to run again more often .
After my run, I did my torchers. It is basically similar to what I do during circuit training. Torchers just sound more cool! LOL! It is basically a set of exercises that you do consecutively for a minimum amount of time. My torcher for today consists of four exercises, multi-directional lunges, planks, squat thrust jumps, and burpees. I did four rounds of each exercise for fifty seconds each with a ten second rest in between. Felt really good.
Do you have a regular exercise routine? Please feel free to share.

My wife and I do early morning walks at the ovals 4 times in a week. I do 10 rounds at the ovals and my goal is to keep my time at 10 minutes or less per kilometer and I've managed to achieve that everyday except when a friend comes along and stalls my pace.

Nice! You should go by yourself then so you are always on pace.

@allen0187 Yes, I walk alone because I walk faster than my wife. She walks with lady friends and they chat while walking. I like walking solo because I have a time and distance goal.

Yeah, goddess duties!!!
Just kidding... yoga in the morning, biking whenever, and swimming every chance you get.

I can't exercise daily. But I walk everyday to and from -- walking is still a good form of exercise. I wanted to know about the burpee.

I have not started a routine yet but my husband and I are moving into a 55+ community and it has everything I ever wanted. A huge swimming pool, brand new gym, tennis, pickle ball, shuffle board, and lots more. Once we get in totally, we plan on doing regular exercise with all that is offered to us.

Yeah. If I miss a day, I really feel sluggish.

@JudyEv I wish I could get a regular exercise routine. Maybe when we are all moved into our house. Should be the end of the month and once things are put away I will have no excuse as this community has a brand new gym, and a pool and all kinds of outside sports.

Do you do normal bike pathways or do you do trails?

@allen0187 - I do both. I mostly ride bike paths for the mileage, but sometimes I do ride to a place where I can do some actual mountain biking.

I used to run last year all around the basketball court, unfortunately my knee kept hurting. Later not only I realized i had some uric acid problem, i got gout too, now both of my feet have gout. I can go as far as walking, cycling and weight lifting, but that's it. until I loose 30 pounds or something i can't run.

It isn't recommended that you run or even jog if you are just starting out. Running and even jogging is hard on the joints. Much better if you just walk or swim.

As much as I can, I try to bike for at least 30 minutes a day, and a little walking.

Biking and walking are good exercises. Is that mountain biking, racing, or just a stationary bike?

Walking.
I do walk going to my home office for work. I also do the same when I go home after work.
