Trip to the Zoo Today

Today's activity was a trip to the zoo with my granddaughter Zelda's preschool class. They came on the bus from the town nearby where they live and I met them there.
In this picture she is not looking very happy for some reason. Maybe she was just anxious to get started on seeing the animals.
It's a cold and overcast day, but not as cold as it was yesterday. I did put my long john's and an extra shirt on and wore my coat.
It was a good time sitting and having lunch with the little ones and walking around the zoo with them. We then got a double trip around on the train for a treat.
I took several pictures.
What I seen is that our zoo leaves a lot to be desired, even over the last time we went. The cages to hold birds were empty except one with an owl. I wonder where they went to? Even the caged in bird sanctuary only had the roadrunner and 3 ducks inside of it.

It may be that they are temporarily off exhibit. The Eagles were there and some others when we were there a couple of months ago. They have to upgrade the enclosures I would think from time to time. It is too cold right now for some of the birds.
