Ladies Meeting

Last night we had our monthly Ladies meeting at church. I love these meetings, we all bring covered dishes and the food is always plentiful, delicious and I always eat way too much. Last night was clean up night or work night, and we cleaned out all cabinets, drawers in our Fellowship Hall. Threw away things we did not need, or had even forgotten what they were for. And we really worked very late and very hard. But it looked all organized and perfect. I baked a sort of fruit cake in a different manner, and it was awesome. Everyone loved it. And it was beautiful also. I love trying new cakes, and this one just turned out perfect. I baked four cakes in three days. I did two for our Tea and one for a friend, and one for our Fellowship Dinner. I am sending you a picture of the one we had last night. What do you think? Does it really make you want a piece of cake. Believe me, it was soooo good.

@tuttiharris that cake looks so good that it would be wonderful if you could post a story about how to put that cake together

Rasma... I baked it in two six inch cake pans... Made three small layers...Used Bavarian Cream to put the layers together with diced (small), peaches and strawberries. Covered the cake with sliced peaches, sliced Kiwi and strawberries, glazed it with a thick simple syrup. Icing is Whipped Cream. Keep it in the fridge because of the icing. Cake is regular white cake mix.

It's a pity that one has to destroy the cake in order to be able to eat it. :-(

M.L... Yeah, that first cut is so hard to make. Last night they made me do the first cut. Love to you my friend.

That cake looks so delicious! The hardest part would be cutting into it. What a shame to spoil such a perfect cake! I've just realised others have the same opinion. :)
