Greatest Hits

Greatest hits music collections. Yes, they are hit or miss sometimes. A good collection makes for a happy fan. I have had some that are missing some very good songs. But, when one hits most of the targets you can't lose. I found such a collection for Prince, and I am so happy with it. When an artist has such a huge body of work, catalog of recordings there is going to be a challenge choosing. Well, this music fan is going to continue to look for great hits, but it is nice to have a good start.

i know someone who gave up some of his record collections because he ran out of space. i find it cool that people are still collecting those. if i have all the money in the world, i would love to have all my favorites on vinyl or cd's.

Hi Joy. I basically have some of the best music ever made in convenient forms that I chose at the time of purchase. I have Michael Jackson's Thriller on vinyl (very scratched), Prince's Purple Rain on vinyl as well as some others. A few greatest hits CD's and some tapes. It is not for collecting as much as it is for listening, but they are a collector's dream.

@Talknpen Prince was a unique artist that could many instruments. There is rare in the recording industry.

Hi Scott. I am going to get Prince Ultimate. It is the greatest for me. But, you have something there with the Best Of. Also, Definitive collections are pretty good.

I agree with you! They really do miss a lot of hits in those collections. I think those collections capture just a simple view into how prolific those artists are - especially with an artist like Prince.
