Introduction for OldRoadsOnceTraveled

While I cannot remember a time when I was not a writer, my professional writing experience began with the Yahoo Content Network, where I quickly discovered that I did NOT want to be a journalist! It was fun for awhile, and only took me a year and a half to earn five dollars. After submitting my first article, I started my first Blogspot blog, Old Roads Once Traveled, but I knew nothing about monetization, so I joined Squidoo. There, I quickly discovered that I did NOT want to be a content marketer, either. Soon after, I discovered a very happy medium in social blogging. I quickly became addicted to it. What could be better than making friends and getting paid nicely to interact with them? I made a lot of friends at Bubblews, and later at Persona Paper, but the bottom soon fell out of the social blogging market, and I was not diversified enough to survive the loss of income with the demise of Bubblews. My beloved blogging partner, Guiness the Cat, found his voice along with me at Bubblews, and soon started his own Blogspot blog, The Guiness Blog by Guiness the Cat. Sadly, he passed away in October, 2015, leaving much to be said and written. Meanwhile, life intervened and the need to make a living took away from writing time. Teaching piano lessons, which I have done since the age of sixteen, was no longer a dependable source of income, so I have added other income streams akin to “a real job” to my portfolio. While these take up a good bit of time, they at least allow me a small financial cushion that I hope is going to allow me to wade back into the business of writing. I have another writing collaborator now in Huckleberry the Kitten. Huckleberry came along not long after Guiness passed away. Huck has aspirations of being a kitty blogger like his predecessor, and has been in kitty blogger training most of his life. He has taken over as editor of The Guiness Blog by Guiness the Cat, and he is in charge of reworking and archiving the works Guiness the Cat left behind. Huck very much enjoys interacting on Facebook, where he has his own Facebook page. He’s looking forward to getting his paws wet writing here and hopes to meet other kitty bloggers.
