If You Seen Someone...

Do you ever feel like people are going slap dab crazy in this world today? I find more and more people seemingly losing their mind, and there is nothing I can do to help the situation.
People are breaking into people's home knowing that the people are at home. It is like they no longer regard human life, and do not care if they take a human life to get what they want. They will steal anything that is not nailed dime, just to sell for their next drug fix.
It sad how little people regards others life. People are not what they used to be. They do not help their neighbor out and certainly will not get involved in protecting another man's personal belongings.
I was talking to someone the other day, who said: "yes I seen someone trying to get in the door, but didn't want to get involved." What kind of neighbor is that? Now, this was not my neighbor, but one street over from me. How sad is it when people just sit back and watch something happen, and never call the cops or try to detain the person in any way.
If you saw someone breaking into your neighbors home, how would you handle the situation?

I just hope if someone sees someone breaking in my home, they would try to help me. I am not saying risk their life for me, but the least they could do is call the cops.

@Bluedoll I think it would be nice if everyone would try to reach out and help someone in need out.

@slund2041 People should try to help. Cities tend sometimes to be not very friendly or connected.

@Marcyaz Good plan! Never a good idea to put yourself in harm's way, but calling the cops is safe.

I am sure they would have a weapon on them, if they are breaking into someone's house. It is best to call the law.

I guess I do not understand why they are afraid of calling the cops? They would not want someone to break in their home and not do anything about it.

I was raised the same way. I would want someone to call the cops if they seen someone stealing my belongings. I have worked too hard to get what I have, for some thug to come and steal it.

Well, that would be nice. I cannot understand why anyone would not want to get involve to help someone out. I bet they would not appreciate it if the roles were reversed.

@Bluedoll Well, I am not saying they have to go fight the person. They could at least call someone to intervene. What is wrong with calling the cops? How is that too much involvement? I do not live in UK, so I am not sure what 112 is?

I will just call the cops, and some village officers, there's no way i can handle that situation.

Well at least you would get help in some way. I am not wanting anyone to get in harm's way, just call the law. I do not understand why anyone would not call the law, because they don't want to become involved.

Call police first and then make a ton of noise. We should never interfere in such a way as to be harmed, but making noise will get them away perhaps before they cause damage.

You are right! Never put yourself in danger, but calling the cops would help out a lot.

It is never a good idea. I am not even sure if it is a good idea to let the person know that you seen them. I would never want them to come after you.

I will call the authorities and report what happen. Or I will let other neighbors know about it so that we can help catch the bad guys.

Well, calling the authorities would probably be the best way to handle this type of situation, because you never want to put your own life at risk. When I say get involved I do not mean to try and stop them personally. I am just thinking someone could call the cops.
