A stench in the house & a loud ringing noise in the garage

Where I live my dad has a truck and building supplies in the garage. There is some kind of really high pitched very loud ringing / buzzing sound in the garage. I cannot figure out where it is coming from. It is so loud that when inside the garage it just hurt my ears so bad to be in there. It sounds like its coming from high above. My dad is not home right now until tomorrow so he can't check it out until then. He thinks it could be the automatic door opener which I don't think is ever used anymore. My living room is stinky. Last night we all started noticing it. We have a lot of mouse poison around in the cellar and back room cupboard so I am thinking that a mouse ate the poison and crawled into the wall and died. If that is the case it will stink for a few more days but better then it being running around breeding in my house.

I thought my dad was going to be in town today but he won't be until Sunday. I guess I will have to go out there and figure out what the sound is and get it shut off.

@toniganzon It stopped for a day and now is doing it again. I went out for ten minutes today trying to figure out where the noise is coming from. I unplugged both automatic door things but it wasn't that. I cannot figure out for the life of me where the sound is coming from. It is so loud and high pitched that after 10 minutes I just could not stand to be in there anymore trying to figure it out. It hurts my ears so bad.

I've been worried about my house being stinky lately what with having a puppy and all.

@shaggin LOL, I hate stink smells too and my friend mostly stinks of BO. I always notice smells, good and bad and so far, I can't smell stinky inside my home. I might be becoming used to it though.

@MsTickle Oh gosh and its so hard to tell a friend they smell. I've been in that situation and you just don't want to be around them or have them on your furniture.

That is one of the reasons I wouldn't get a dog when my man wanted one. Every time I go to someones house that has a dog it smells. I cannot stand smells so it would drive me nuts. I remember his parents bread beagles and he would go play with the puppies and they would step in their poop and jump on him so he always smelled like it especially since he rarely washed his pants. Ugh it was absolutely awful. Those are the days I will not miss lol.

The smell is nearly gone and when I woke up today that horrible loud ear splitting buzzing sound was gone. Whatever it was I am glad it has stopped. My father wasn't going to be home to check it out until Sunday so I was going to have to figure out what was wrong on my own. I'm glad the noise has stopped and hopefully the smell will be completely gone soon as well.

@miniam Nothing to be scared of. My dad was up a few days ago and as soon as he went into the garage he found the sound. It was his motorcycle. All taken care of now thankfully.

@miniam It was just some kind of small light. I don't know what it was for. It had a little switch that all he had to do was turn off.
