I have enough to catch out for $25 and although I wanted to wait to hit a hundred, I might lose it all by waiting. I've wanted to move my blogs anyway, since I haven't been able to use my third party programs like EPD on my blogs there. I may keep a couple there and try to pick up some affiliate income if they aren't right for other sites, but I'll be saving the all as complete webpages in my browser to make them easier to put together. .

Self-hosting is definitely the smart thing to do. But it's nice to have a place to interact with other people who do the same things. Only writing on your own blogs can get lonely.

@bagarad I've learned a lot just from reading what other bloggers post in the PJ group.

I wonder how hard it is to change from one interface to the other. I'd like to change my main blogs to WordPress from Blogger, but as we've seen at BlogJob, site migrations can be a mess. I lost almost all my traffic when I moved my site to a new host. Of course, most of the site was left unpublished until I had time to rewrite it. I attribute the loss mostly to having less content and a different name and business model, even though I'm selling many of the same books. I'm just not shipping them anymore and I'm acting as an affiliate seller instead.

@Gina145 Nope. Get a self-hosted one. You can't monetize anything from WordPress.com. I almost got kicked off and my blog deleted for a Zazzle link to a poster of a skeleton with spider webs on it holding a phone in a post about about trying to get to the right department of Microsoft's store on the phone. I think Microsoft might have reported me.

I often thought of joining BlogJob because of so many familiar writers being there. Now I'm very glad i didn't. I had enough after Bubblews.

@OldRoadsOnceTraveled They closed the membership door just before you had a chance to join. Now I have to update all my blog posts promoting BlogJob and I removed a photo that was no longer appropriate made a better one, and now I can't seem to load any photos I've tried today into my Wordpress site to replace what I removed. I had to update in without any photos just to save the changes. I am sorry we won't have you in our group there. Many people still have hope and are sticking around hope things get resolved. Where have I seen that before? Speaking of which, we have quite an interesting discussion going on PP right now.

I was just about to join for that very reason, but didn't when I saw the announcement. Don't want to go through that again.

What happened? Are they shutting down? I'm not a member on that site, but I've read posts about people posting there.

There aren't shutting down yet. They have just stopped giving people points. I suspect if they do start giving points again it will be just for blogging and maybe comments on blogs. It would make sense to stop giving points for getting friends, and for starting and joining groups. That would get rid of those who try to earn points without contributing anything profitable to the site.

@bagarad That would be wise. They were giving points for far too may meaningless things. But I think points for referred views would be important because if the site is to survive, it needs readers, not just members visiting each other's posts.

@bagarad Oh okay. Is it a good site that pays? I came from the B site, and I really loved that one before it went down. :/

I hope Sheridan is able to revive the site. It was a good place to call "home"
