TEENAGERS

So my son is 16 years old and he thinks that he knows everything. He do not understand that he has a long way to go from knowing what he need to know.He has a license and thinks that the world is his. He is not a bad kid but he does have a flip mouth that makes you wanna quickly give him a backhand. He is smart but some of the things that come out of his mouth is questionable. He does not think before he speaks. He is around six foot or more and it is funny when I hug him that my head rests on his chest. My little boy is not little anymore, he is a TEENAGER! He eats like a grown man. I can't keep juice or any other beverage in the refrigerator because he also drinks everything up. It's like he has a worm in his stomach eating up all the food. He is so lean and lanky but he does not like to play basketball and he gets mad when people ask him that because he feels like they are stereotyping him. He was going through an extensive rebellious stage but he is doing a lot better. He had started being disrespectful but now he has calmed down. I have to explain to him that he is my 1st child and my only boy and no one can replace him or take my love away that I have for him. Sometimes he acts jealous of his 2 year old sister and does dumb things to seek out attention. I have to remind him that I still love him and no one can take that away. We have our own special bond that cannot be broken unless he break it.

Teenage years are a tough age. I know, because I was one of those rebellious ones. My poor mom! But we love our kids no matter what! :)

@miyaford I think that's important! I make sure to always tell my kids that my love for them is unconditional. They are my world!

@pinkCardigangirl You have to let them know how special they are each and everyday because tomorrow is not promised. After the passing of my mother 2 years ago I now realize life is to short and you need to play the hand that you are dealt with and make the best out of a bad situation

When I was 16, I also thought I knew everything! Now, at 64, I still don't know everything, but at least I recognize that fact! I'm sure things will get much better as he matures. :)

Yes wisdom comes with age and I do believe that learning is an steady evolving process. I am so happy when I learn something new. I use to try and learn something new everyday which something thatI haven't done in a long time.

My daughters are all teenagers now but seems I raised them well. They are honest, respectful and well mannered. I thank a God for giving me such kids. Well, they are all girls that's why I am able to raise them easy. Unlike boys seems different and difficult to raise. Just my thoughts.
