~Ungrateful-Just Can't Stand It Anymore~

There is a family member that I am fairly close to, we talk every day but emotionally I am drifting further away each day as I grow closer to God. The things she says bothers me so much...and she's not a healthy person for me to surround myself with.
We spoke on the phone today and she was ranting to me about how she hates her house and how much better her friends have it than she does. How she wishes she could have a 2000 square foot home instead of just a 1500 sq. foot house
-Time Out-
Did she really just complain to me about her house, knowing very well we were homeless not too long ago and right now we have more people in our family living in a much smaller home?
-Time In-
Yes, yes she did. Wow!
So...honestly if your going to complain about your life and all of the "things" you have in it-make sure you complain to someone who has it all like you do...
I told her maybe you should be grateful that you have a house. She says well I am, but I wish I could have a more modern bigger house. My point clearly did NOT get across.
Time to get off the phone and pray that she sees the light one day...
If you have it bad I understand complaining now and then-we all do it. But when you have everything your heart could ever want spare me your pity party.
~Rant Over~

@bunnybon7 It gets on my nerves, this is something I struggle with not getting annoyed over.

Wow, she sounds like she needs to be knocked off her pedestal by somebody. Does size really matter that much that she had to go on and on about it? A true home is where the heart is, where loved ones gather, and regardless of the square footage of the home, that is what a home is. Its too bad that she dumped on you like that, it was rude.

@Juliaacv Yeah I guess so. It is sad to be her then. When my family was homeless we were closer than ever because we had each other and that is what we focused on-the Lord and each other.

@Juliaacv Yes I totally agree. She could be handed a mansion and she would complain about something in it. It is really sad that she is this way.

@LovingMyBabies Rooms don't make a home, people and love do, so you could have the most beautiful home in the world and it might not consist of more then a tent, but that is the difference. I guess if you don't know true love or care about it then you crave bigger and better in material things.

She probably didn't even think about your situation. People get so wrapped up in their own lives that they don't think about others. I can understand how it would be hard to deal with for you, but pity her and pray for her. Prayer is what she needs.

@peavey You are right, prayer is what she needs because she is not thoughtful at all.

Those are the kind od sentences I donĀ“t reply to. They are too stupid even to worry about them.

@LovingMyBabies I cut those people off my life. They make me ill.

@marguicha I do know it's stupid but it angers me because it is thoughtless to say to someone who has been homeless and had nothing before, you know? It's just irritating.

@sol_cee That won't help her-she saw me-her sister being homeless & hungry and it didn't seem to phase her. I think she just needs a strong wake up call to be honest.
Yes there are lots of people in other countries starving and homeless but right here there are TONS of them too. You don't have to go far to find them.

When complaining about ones circumstances it's wise to complain to those who generally have more, but of course those with more won't really sympathize

Some people just don't get it. Until they have lost it, been without and not eaten fro awhile they don't understand how good they have it.

@jstory07 Yes I agree. We have been homeless so I definitely am grateful to have a roof over our heads-I just said that to make a point-that she does not have it as bad as she thinks she does.

@jahunt Yeah I know. I would just miss her at certain times. But I am debating about it for sure.
