Please Respond To New Members Discussions

I have seen that posts from new members mostly get ignored. How is a member to get started and feel comfortable to continue if we keep ignoring their posts? Yes new members might not feel secure to write much and may write 1 line, let`s support them by commenting on their post and encourage them to write more. Some members have posted up to 10 discussions and almost no replies, if we keep ignoring them, what reason do they have to stay here? Anyone ready to join me in making new members more welcome?

I replied to some today. Some are just so strange that I have no idea what to say about them. I don't know what they are talking about. But, I do reply to at least a few everyday, and also answer some of the no response ones every day.

@miniam I think maybe you don't understand the new user page. The posts seem to stay on that page for awhile even though they may have several responses and likes. At a glance, it looks like people ignored them, but they didn't.

@miniam I spend a little time browsing the new posts. If they lack content, I do not respond. Many lack content or post of things that are not of interest to me.

I would love to give it a try if I get more time. I think you have a good idea. I tend to reply back to the people who have commented on my posts the most. When I get time then I go to the new discussions. I wish I had more time for mylot like I used to years ago.

@miniam I like to mylot this way so people who take the time to comment know I appreciate it. After that there is little time left for me to do much else. If those new members happen upon my post then I would be checking out their posts after I reply to their comment.

you dont need more time,if all or most members tried to interact with new members, there are enough of us here. Just 1 or 2 replies to a new post is enough.

Its what I usually do..like after I responded three discussions from the recent discussions I check again the new members discussions and respond to three then ho back again to the recent and just vice versa.

I try to remember to check the new people's posts, I mean, honestly, like you said they're new. I remember when I joined the thing that excited me were the people responding to my posts, I'm sure that if these people had other folks responding to them, it would be exciting.

Whenever I stumble on a new member's post, I automatically follow him or her. I love making friends here in Mylot and I also want to know their ideas. I believe other mylotters do same thing as well.

I have met a lot of interesting people by following and reading their bios. New people need to write a bio because some people don't deal with people who don't have one. Many spammers join sites and don't fill out a bio.

I will respond to a new members discussion if it interest me, and if it doesn't interest me, I won't respond. I have seen some new member that have really great discussions, and others aren't so great, but you are right, that we do need to give them recongnition so that they will want to stay.

@miniam You are right, as we need new members to keep the interaction going. I responded to a few earlier that were new members, so even if one responds, some will see that, and want to respond too. I hope that the new members will get lots of responses to their discussions.

I also do not respond to all posts, but i feel some are ignored *intentionally* and most of the tie you check, you`ll see that posts without any answers are from new members. What a boring place myLot will be if we did not have new members coming in because im sure some old members go on holidays, take a break are busy with other things etc

well, it still depends on the type of discussions they post. for how can i read, like, and comment a discussion that is just one-liner or if the discussion can be answered with a YES or a NO? we make them feel welcome if they do the proper way too.

@miniam yes, not all of them make a one-line discussion, but most new members have one-line and usually, they ask how it is like being a member and how can we earn? well, i have 2 shortest discussions posted, but this was because i used my mobile phone to make and post that discussion.

Not all of them are 1 lines and im sure many of us here did not write 5 lines when we first got here. Some are just getting started here, they are not even sure how long it`s allowed to post a discussion.

@ridingbet A new member who has just joined do not always know what to talk about so the easiest to do something they are sure old members know about is to ask about payment

New member when given strong instructions suddenly as what to do what not to do,get sometimes doubtful if they are at right place or not. We need to give them 3-4 days to understand how it works. Ofcourse they may post something which might later get deleted coz they may not be versed with guidelines. But that will give them idea what works here and what not.

@miniam That is how it works here. If you want interactions, you have to respond to others. We don't have time to repeatedly answer someone who never answers others.
