Spring Festival

People also call the Spring Festival as Chinese New Year and Lunar New Year.The Spring Festival starts with the new moon on the first day of the new year and ends on the full moon 15 days later.
When the Spring Festival begins,people look forward to the time for the joy,rest and refreshment,students lay aside their home work and give themselves up to the merriment and the joy.People will do the Spring Festival shopping and put some paper-cuts on their doors and windows in order to get rid of ill-fortune.Children receive money in red bags which are given by their grandparents.At the same time,people stay up to watch New Year’s Gala and eat dumplings.
At that day,we have a family reunion dinner,we can eat much delicious food.On 15th day,we will celebrate Lantern Festival,and children will carry lanterns in a parade and do riddle guessing games

It sounds like a great tradition. It sounds like a lot of fun. I never took part in one, but I did see the Chinese dragon dance in San Francisco one year. It was spectacular. I think it was for Chinese New Year.
