After posting my second-favorite Eagles song it's time to get to the penultimate Talking Heads song! And for this entry I have to go with the song that introduced me to this fabulous band.
#2: Take Me to the River
Their first top 40 hit, that booming drum opening by Chris Frantz, joined after a few measures by wife Tina Weymouth's bass lines grabbed me and didn't let go. I remember my dad complaining when I was playing this LOUDLY with headphones on when I was a teenager!
The live versions of this song are different, and I like them fine, but it's that 1978 original recording that just oozes sex, soul, salvation, and everything else that Reverend Al meant for this song to convey when he wrote it in 1974.
This is not only my second favorite Talking Heads song, it's my favorite cover version of any rock song. Talking Heads nailed this song.
Take Me to the River
Written by Al Green and Mabone "Teenie" Hodges
From More Songs About Buildings and Food, 1978
From their 1978 album More Songs About Buildings and Food. Bryan Ferry also recorded a version of this song in 1978! I don't know if that's at all related.

@teamfreak16 She does indeed. I've been a fan ever since, well, forever. Had the great good luck to see both her and Sting in a concert. Bloody amazing show, and it has ruined me for live acts ever since.

This was also the first time I heard them. I was hoping it would make the cut.
