Testing these through walking

Philippines

In my earlier post I've mentioned that I received the box from my dad and this was one of them. I was pessimistic at first because the shoe is not new, feared that it might break off if you use it the first time. So, with out hesitation I just decided to walk three neighborhoods in our subdivision. I did this yesterday morning with out the socks and was a little bit itchy. So far no part got ripped while walking more than two kilometers. So far so good, I hope it can survive for the whole year. The other shoes is resting for now, in fact I might only just use it for the treadmill bike exercise only. I'm so happy I got another one of these for any outside work out activity. And I've also search that walking is a better long term for loosing weight than running. Have a nice day

@Hatley 20 pounds in a month is a lot of weight to lose. Are you back on the "wagon"?

Yes walking is better than running especially if you're a little overweight. Health doctors and nutritionist usually would advise against running for overweight people because their weight could actually hurt their knees and would cause more damage. If you have a bicycle it's also a great alternative to running in losing weight.

@phoenixontheway that's terrible I'm so sorry to hear that. Running is good but it's just not for everyone. I can't run myself because of a knee injury from playing volleyball.

@toniganzon Oh, I am sorry to here that, I usually go to work by bicycle.

Don't worry about the shoes getting ripped . Your dad can very well send you a brand new one because he knows you need it to lose weight .

Hello @MGjhaud I couldn't calculate how far was that but it was some how far enough to make me sweat after an hour of walking. I'll probably walk again by monday.

Oh, that's true, it's really good since it's more relaxing and allows you to see other surroundings other than your own @jstory07

I don't think that it is wise to walk without socks in your shoes.

That's what I did during my daily routine, brisk walking or simple walking is very good for me, I don't run, it might harm my knees because I'm already at age.

Hello @ida123 I don't run anymore either since I'm still over weight. There's still a possibility that my knee would still get hurt since I'm haven't run in months.

so, is that a running pair of rubber shoes? i think the soles of the shoes have distinctive characteristics if they are for running or jogging, or simplw walking.
