Do you Need Alone Time

I love to be alone sometimes and feel I never get enough alone time. Most people I know hate having free time on their hands, but I for one would love to have some free time. I am not sure why people are afraid to be alone?
I think it would be fun to have some time alone just to sit quietly at home alone, without anyone home to talk or make noise. How about a nice walk alone where you can ponder a situation that is happening in your life, without the chatter of another person?
Someone recently told me that she does not do well with too much free time on her hands. She said I always go to work early, and leave late so that I do not have to be alone. Why not find a hobby she enjoys working on that in her free time. I do not understand not wanting or needing any alone time.
I love to be alone and find I get tired of having to try to think of things to talk about with someone. I get sick of having to watch what I say or think before speaking, so much rather spend time alone. I hate being forced to show interest in a conversation when I truly have none. I hate feeling like I have to monitor everything before I speak it, to keep arguments down. It just frustrates me.
Why do you feel the lady has to be at work to avoid having alone time? Is she afraid to be alone? Are you scared to be alone, or do you treasure time for yourself?

I also love to have some "me time". I want to have a date with myself during my free time and treat myself in a restaurant or prety places. I love to read during my free time and be with the characters in the novel that I am reading. I never really gets bored at all.

@slund2041 Your mom sounds like my mom. She always make me very busy always doing household chores.

@annierose Mom certainly didn't raise any lazy children. She also taught us the word "bored" was an ugly word. If you said "I'm bored", you automatically found yourself sweeping the floor or other chores. To this day me, my brother and sister hates the word.

I have never been one to get bored. My mother taught me an a young age to never complain about being bored. She would find me some work to do, so I am not bored. She would say if you are bored, then sweep the floor. She made me work every-time I complained of being bored. I do not say the word "bored" to this day.

It is nice to have alone time to read, or just sit and ponder.

I find it nice to be alone sometimes. That does not mean that I do not love my husband dearly, but i do treasure some peace and quiet.

There are so many people who can't be on their own. I don't know why. Nowadays people depend on someone else for their happiness. I have heard from many that they get bored being alone. Think about it. If you are getting bored from your own company then how could someone else would enjoy your company? I like beit alone. And its not that I don't like people with me but I choose to be with whom and not to be with whom. Sometimes I wonder when someone askes me that what do I do being alone. But I understand that these are those who can't be alone.

I guess some people just need outside company to entertain them. I do not look to others for my happiness, and entertainment.

It runs me crazy if I do not get at least fifteen minutes alone. However, some days it is hard to get that.

There are many reasons why a person would not want to be alone. Imagine a home with a large family and that family has left and you are an empty nester. The sudden emptiness would be daunting. Or the person who just lost the love of their life, and the house is too empty without the vivaciousness of that person to bring it to life. There are times when I don't want to be alone, I want noise, not so I can participate in it, but because it feels right. And then there are the times when I love the solitude of an empty house or I seek out a place I can be completely alone - usually a place overlooking a bay and just feel close to God and worship him for who he is.

I can understand if a mother is suddenly an empty Nester, or lost her spouse. This is a young single girl without children or a husband. She wants her boyfriend there right after work, to entertain her.

I also rather have my social life on the internet rather than face to face with people. I have found most real life friends are disappointments, because they are users.

I guess I find enough entertainment and socializing with my family, and need more quiet alone time.

I guess I need more time to think and ponder life. I need to sort issues out when the house is quiet.
