Whats your take of Celibacy?

Nairobi, Kenya

Recently, our country appointed a new Governor of the Central Bank and, since it is a public appointment, it is open to public scrutiny. The guy who landed the position is well qualified in all matters of the job. The only point of contention with him was his way of life. He is one of those opus dei celibate guys. Many people here in Kenya held different views about his choice of life. Being that he has no family, he was viewed as not capable of 'responsibility'. It was quite a commonly held view. What do you think?

Well, it does make people wonder why isn't he married yet, but, being a single, he can be more devoted to the job. He can invest more time as a Governor. I hope you guys won't suffer the terror group Al Shabaab, I see they start to attack more and more. The guy will have to be determined to eliminate the terror so I hope he has some military background. Protect the wild nature is also important. Whoever gonna be the governor will have to deal with the terror problem and the wild nature responsibility.

Just because a person isn't married and don't have kids doesn't mean he's not capable of being responsible. My uncle has never been married his entire life and he has no kids of his own but he taught me how it is to be a responsible person. He's the most respected person in his job as I was told by his subordinates and they admire his way of managing things. So i think it's not fair to judge a person's sense of responsibility based on his choice of being single.
