And they are called Saturday and Sunday!
Wass'up people!
It's a Mother's Day weekend.
So, Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers!
I noticed many people around me have rarely (if ever) celebrated this day in a family setting. At schools, colleges and workplaces they had. But never at home.
It's strange isn't it?
Celebrating a day with friends and colleagues forgetting the very person at home for whom the day was meant for?
Even social media site is full of it.
But in reality?
Nothing!
I remember when I and a colleague of mine decided to change that. We were teachers. We thought to start with the kids.
We rounded up all the kids from Pre-nursery, Nursery and Kindergarten. The colleague of mine took their hand prints using washable colors on a separate craft sheet.
I had the responsibility to organize them neatly with their names. So, we know which one belonged to which child.
Then we together made each sheet into a beautiful card. It took us two days to get it all together.
KG students helped as much as they can and we had them write their names in their cards. We helped of course!
Added some quotes too!
It wasn't much but it was a start!
Two days later....
A day before Mother's Day, we organized a small celebration for older kids for which they had been prepared for by other staff members.
The day turned out good. Everyone was happy!
And yeah some mothers even cried when their little angels handed them the card with their hand prints!
They were touched!
It has started off a trend from then on!
That was my most recent memory of Mother's Day!
We don't celebrate it here with valor. We keep it low key!
Hope you have a fun and enjoyable time with your family!
Have an awesome weekend peeps!!!!
Some thing to ponder : I don't have time to hate you. Either I love you or I don't care at all.
Good night and sweet dreams!

Lovely work done, highly appreciated.
Not many care about these small things which of course can be saddening at times.
My mom is away, with dad and her grandson, touring Delhi, Agra and Allahabad. Will be returning back much later. So this year, the plans are delayed. I will definitely be calling her and wishing her on Mother's Day.
And now that I have another mother at my place (my wife), I will try making it special for her. I have to do so specially this time, as this will be her first Mother's Day in real sense.
As for your quote to ponder - my take, life is too short to hate. I may not love you, but I can care for you as long as you allow me to

@Daljinder Happy family time... honestly speaking, that is distant.
But yes, we did have pizza today. That was scheduled for tomorrow, but wife said, as tomorrow will be a busy day for domino, we get it today.
Trying to find out other avenues to make the day special tomorrow for sure.

Celebratory.
I wouldn't know it being Mothers' Day had I not have to check calendar so often these days. If I get to know I do wish her. Else, we have entirely different (and fixed) date to make special for her. :))
Someone I had planned to wish next month too, had vowed not to forget this time. Would have been my first. But now I cannot. :(

@Daljinder My youngest boy brought home a pretty flower bouquet made out of his hand print. It is so cute that I put it on my wall. I want to frame it. :)

It's a great day to say thank you to mom for all that she did/does for you. Many mother's makes sacrifice's that family member's are unaware of. I think that as kids get older and into adulthood they understand or have a better grasp on all the things that mom did/does for her family. So if your mother is still alive call her, if able go see her and spend the day with her. A mother loves to see her grown children. I have only 1 child left at home and the others live a thousand miles away, so I will get a phone call from them. The youngest will go out with dad tomorrow and shop for something to have for me on Sunday morning. Even though they have been told that I don't need anything since I got a new car this past weekend. I will get to see the older children at the end of the month when we head out to take our vacation. Thank you for the good wishes and hope your weekend is a good one.

@beaniefanatic Thank you for the wonderful response!
I live with my parents. So, Mom gets to see me daily. I guess I get on her nerves too sometimes. But its normal. I am going to give her a break from the house work. She is a housewife and manages the house beautifully.
My brother will have something special brought home to eat or we may go out to eat out together as a family. It depends on the mood!
I hope you have a lovely time and you always be blessed with love of your family!
Thank you for the good wishes!

That was truly a good reminder for everyone.. thanks much for that.
Good thing I am not one of the guilty ones who show off their celebrations bit wasn't even celebrating for by the main purpose of the celebration.
Glad you have lead those kids to by the real meaning of the celebration.

Very sweet, very creative project for the mothers! Simple things like that will surely make any Mom so happy. BTW, I am intrigued on your pen name here because you are posting so good things instead of being evil! ha ha ha!

@acelawrites Just trying to show that name is rudimentary. Actions speak for itself.
Thank you for the kind words!
