~Her Dog Has To Go~ =(

This lady on FB is heart broken because she has a loving and sweet pitbull (which she's had for 7 years) and she has to find her a new home. The inspector for their home owner's insurance said they cannot have pitbulls unless they want to pay a much higher amount each month. They can't afford that so they have to re-home the dog. They have 2 very heart broken children now too... Isn't that just so sad? This world has given pitbulls/rottweilers/german shepards such a bad reputation and they can all be the sweetest dogs ever! It's all how you raise them. That's my sad news for the day...sorry, just had to talk about it here.

Dogs become part of the family, so this must be tearing them apart. So sad.

True..German shepherds can be so dignified that you feel as if a man is there in the house to look after any emergency. I remember, we were only girls in a home, and this dog. We did not feel insecure being alone.

That's sad, I hate seeing owners getting rid of their pets.

@LovingMyBabies I know. It's heart breaking. More of the kids, than the adults, I'm sure, when we were forced to get rid of my rabbit, my son knew that the rabbit was missing and it bothered him a lot, and it's kind of tough explaining to a child that the reason why the animal had to leave was because people didn't want it.

I have seen so many stories of irresponsible dog owners who had pit bulls and something horrid happened. I can see the insurance's side. It can't be easy to have to let go of a family pet. I wish owners would be more responsible and then this wouldn't be an issue.

@LovingMyBabies ....It sure is. And maddening to me that this nice family has to pay the price because others weren't responsible.

My daughter was bitten once by a Jack Russel and another time, by a chihuahua mix. (She thought the little dogs would enjoy being picked up like a baby...but one was an old man-dog with a bad back and the other was an ornery old-lady mutt.) But you never see THOSE vicious little breeds being "banned" by insurance. From what I've witnessed, it's the little dogs that you have to watch out for. They have a lot less tolerance for children.

@Genipher Yeah those are the most vicious breeds in my opinion and your right they are never banned from anywhere! They might be small but their mean and their bite still hurts I am sure. I agree-their not good with children at all.

Sorry to read that the pitbull has to vacate the apt. I hope the dog can get a new home or some other friends his own breed.

That's sad. I didn't that you have to pay an amount to raise a dog in your home. We do not have that kind of rule/law (I think) in my country. I have a shih tzu and she's been with my family for 5 years now. I can't imagine giving her to someone else because she's already a part of our family. It's true what you say. It's all how you raise them. I hope they can find a home that will give the pitbull the same love they did.

@greenthumb018 It is really sad. =( I wish we didn't have it here because it's all how you raise them-and they have to give up a loving pet over it. Heart breaking. Yeah, it is how you raise them. You can raise them to be mean and they will be or you can raise them to be sweet and they will be.

The mean factor is something that I think is bred into these types of dogs. They are banned from our area completely because there were too many that were bred to be fighting dogs and that carries for quite a few generations-bad blood I think that they call it. But to have to give up your pet, that must be heart breaking, regardless of the breed of dog.

@Juliaacv Oh I hate when people fight dogs-that is so cruel! I have a Rottweiler and she is the most loving dog in the world. She absolutely loves my children and all children that I have babysat too. My youngest daughter used to pull her tail, pull her ears and she would lick her every time. Of course I always told her no but she's stubborn so it took a while to teach her how to be nice to the dog. I cannot imagine having to give up my dog-she's like one of my kids!

That's so sad! Any dog can be monsters or angels. It all depends on how they are raised. How horrible for the family.

That's just disgraceful and this sort of decision gives the insurance companies too much power. What next I wonder? I'd be changing insurance companies immediately.

I didn't know that some breeds required more pay. I do know how painful it is to hand over your dog to someone else. I have been through that as a kid. Hopefully kids will move on from this. I am feeling bad from them.

Jeniffer, anyone with small children should not have pitbulls around. These dogs can be deadly even to a mature person. The lady can be happy nothing happened upto now but you never know. No there is no way im having a pitbull and if a neighbour had a pitbull, i will move out

@miniam It is how they are raised. I have had my Rott for 7 years and she has never ever hurt a child. Pittbulls are the same-if their raised mean they will be mean...
