It's going to be a long weekend

My neighbors here are a handful, they're always yelling something slamming doors and just so loud and obnoxious. It's not even the problem I have with them, it's even deeper than that. My husband and I know for a fact our neighbors are dealing drugs next door. Only because the neighbor guy was talking on his phone loud enough about selling ant-anxiety pills. As I'm sitting here listening neighbors out side with the windows open complaining about who knows what. We've called the cops on them once personally, but it's like almost once a week that the police are next door for something. And from the pattern of the way things are going, weekends are worse than the week days. So, I'm going to have to deal with the neighbors yelling and being a pain in my tooshie, The other neighbors in my complex aren't a problem it's just that family. So to drown out the neighbors I have everyone here on My Lot to keep my mind off of what's going on around me. Please tell me I'm not the only one with hard to deal with neighbors.

You always get the one no matter where you go or do.

@kevin1877uk It's okay. It'll be fine. I have music to ignore the neighbors.

I have a long history with dealing with horrible neighbors. Not just noise. Like you, all night dealing. A "dancer" entertaining many, many male friends. Plugged in guitar playing. Tap dancing and skateboarding on hardwood floors.

That's why I'm happy we don't have anybody above us, it's just the people next to us that drive me crazy. I knew something was different about them when I'd walk to the kitchen and hear music at 4 in the morning.

@polyxena Only some of these issues have been from an upstairs situation. I feel your pain. My sleep pattern was destroyed by noisy neighbors.

@JohnRoberts i hardly have a sleep pattern, so it's not that bad, but when I do want to get sleep it's always when they're the worst.

we have one behind us that has parties in the summer.the house was bought by 4 20 somethings-i'm surprised they got a mortgage like that. anyway, the one guy's girlfriend has a super big mouth when she gets drunk, which she always does..and spews way too much information about herself at 3 am. and this is individual houses around here.they're just that frickin loud.it echoes.

Well I guess my logic as long as they have the money I don't think they care who the money goes to.

Although currently I have wonderful neighbors around me, I have had my share of bad ones in the past. I am meticulous in documenting everything, so when I experienced bad neighbors (I am in an apartment complex), I always can present a good case to management to give them the backup they need to address the issues. Although I love city living and being close among my neighbors, I am thinking now that ultimately I would like to buy about 5-10 acres of land outside the city where I can live in peace and quiet and solitude!

@polyxena I'm kind of torn on the issue...I love urban living, but sometimes you just want a little peace and quiet! lol Too bad I can't afford to have a place in the city AND out in the country! lol

You poor thing! That is awful. I'm lucky that I live in a house on a quiet street in a quiet town with good neighbor's. Just keep calling the police.

Yeah but the problem with keeping on calling them would be the fact that they would now we're probably the ones calling and they're not the nicest folk. I even I'm a little intimidated by them.

@DianneN I'll just ignore everything around me for the weekend. Maybe hide out elsewhere and not listen to anyone.

I've been very lucky in life never to have had those problems. I hate that you're going through that. I can't imagine what I would do under those circumstances. I know I would be miserable.

@polyxena Geez! I would think the police would want that kind of activity squashed rather than ignore it.

Perhaps informing your landlord about your concerns will helpm if your neighbors are bothering you that bad then speaking with them may help or inform the proper agency so that you can find the relief you're looking for.

We've tried filing a report with the land lady she said she'd give the report to whoever it may be. Though something like the neighbors seem like the least of her concern. All she seems worried about is getting the money from them and that's it.

No neighbors, but house mates leave something to be desired.
