A Beautiful Sunny Day

It's such a lovely day, sun is shining but it is a little cool, although I didn't wear a jacket when going out. I went for my two mile walk and enjoyed it so much.Today I walked a green wooded trail in our nearest park, and I love walking there. Sometimes I go to the river, it's a nice walking there too. I like to see the colorful canoes going up and down the river. We have many parks with walking trails and we enjoy then all, but I like the one closer to home best. Lots of people were in the park area but the trail was almost empty. Honeysuckles, sweet shrubs and blackberries were in bloom. The air smelled delicious. Do you have a nice place to walk near you?

That's nice, I love walking in nature. It's not nearly so much fun walking on a treadmill.

Absolutely, you must get out and enjoy it all. So many of our forests are being cut down. We should enjoy it while we can.

Mmmm. Honeysuckle. A favorite smell of mine. Blackberries too? How nice! I would find my way back later in the summer and pick some. Yum!

@RubyHawk ...I remember summers at my grandparent's place. Raspberries, black caps, blackberries, gooseberries, plums, pie cherries, concord grapes, rhubarb and all kinds of veggies from the garden. I would make myself sick.

that's exactly what I plan to do. My sister lives in the country and she said she would remind me when blackberries are ripe.

@celticeagle When the children were young, we picked blackberries and I canned them for blackberry pies.

Sounds lovely. Walking to the water fountain downtown is also nice, if it's not too windy or hot outside. And the back of the church is the Cuyahoga River. Always nice to hear too. No honeysuckles here.

When it's too cold or hot I walk on a treadmill but that's more like work. A fountain would be nice. There is another trail I sometimes walk and it's around an old cemetery. There's a pond there and I sometimes see wild geese.

@RubyHawk I guess I'll have to go eventually, I've just been putting it off and been too lazy to go, but just for some photos would be nice.

Prospect Park in Brooklyn, NY is a very pleasant place to walk in the day (caution during the night). Even Manhattan is a great place to see a lot of beautifully vibrant lights and so many happy people (beware of the smell though). I prefer nature, and the description of the path you took sounds beautiful. It's amazing to be able to just take pleasure in things like plants and animals, which you miss a lot after moving to a big city.

We live outside Atlanta and it's pretty busy here, but thank goodness we have our parks.I'm sure Manhattan is beautiful. I haven't been there but I have seen pictures.

@RubyHawk It definitely is. The skyline is just magnificent, and the architecture is just amazing. The smells can be a bit too much though, depending on what streets you're taking.

@RubyHawk I took the picture after a rainy day so not many people were by the river. On beautiful sunny day, it is usually busier with people walking their dogs, jogging, running, or riding bikes along the river. And some even swimming or jet skiing in the river...

I am loving the weather, it is so nice before it gets so hot. Last Saturday we spent the entire day on the soccer field, all my soccer kids had games, but it was so beautiful we enjoyed just being out.

If I was near a beach that's exactly where I would be, sandy beaches are cool.

That sounds lovely. I don't have anything close that I'd like to walk to. I do have a Walmart nearby that I can walk to, but the scenery isn't anything to post about. I'm glad you're enjoying your day. :) The weather here is rainy today and I love it! :)
