They can be scary and bizarre to some, but lo and behold, they are nutritious.
We got a lot of crickets here. They can either be sauteed in tomatoes, garlic and shallots or that famous Filipino recipe, adobo--soy, garlic, vinegar.
They don't taste bad to be honest, they have this taste.like a.peanut.butter.
Exotic or bizarre these can be, they are nutritious too.
Cricket has a nutritional value (per 100 grams)12.9 g of proteins, 5.5 g of fats, 5.1 of carbohydrates, 75.8 mg of calcium, 7.9 mg of iron. *research says*
So, would you dare?

@DaddyEvil We eat shrimps, mussels, clams, so why not insects?

That was a much more polite way of saying, "EWWW! GROSS!", than I used, @LadyDuck ! LOL!
Your way didn't quite convey the urgency of saying, "No thank you!", that mine did, though! (giggling my tush off!)

i love those, including those beetles (abal-abal in our vernacular language) and the field frogs that taste like chicken.

LMFAO! Your comment wasn't quite as funny as mine, @crazyhorseladycx , but it supplied the same sentiment!
I was not big on peanut butter, anyway, so @Lucky15 's description didn't bother me that way. Hopefully, next time I pop a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup into my mouth I won't get a visual of that picture!

'course, i'd put dark chocolate chips'n 'em...'xcept fer the pups. ya know, coz chocolate's toxic to our lil canine friends?
yepperz, i dunno if'n i could e'en partake'n a reese's cup...

@just4him Well, good for you for being a dare devil! I'm normally not!
I know there are foods I will eat and enjoy while my daughter gets sick smelling it! LOL!
Pretty won't even eat boiled eggs! She claims I am eating farts when I eat them! Of course, when she says that, I act like I am straining to "blow her a kiss"! She screams and runs for her room!

@DaddyEvil I probably will too, but I'm a bit of a dare devil, I just might try them, especially since they're on God's diet plan.

@Daljinder That is far from your usual polite, "No, thank you, anyway!"
What happened there, DJ? Cricket got your tongue? (laughing and teasing you!) You were about as polite as I was in my original post to @Lucky15 ! You just hide behind being vegetarian!

@DaddyEvil I have been talking with her for sometime. So, she is used to me by now.
When I get to know a person well and feel like they got used to my way of talking, I drop the formalities.
I dropped the formalities with you too when I started addressing you as DE. Otherwise I would tag you properly to address you.
I am still polite though
Well I try to be.

Why not? I'm willing to take the challenge, if i had eaten the " salagubang" or june beetle i could pronably take on this, i guess meat is more harmful and harder to digest lol!

Oh, no! Absolutely not. Isn't it funny how different cultures have such different food tastes? I know from my B,A in Anthropology that a lot of people eat termites and consider them a delicacy. Fried crickets seem the same kind of thing.

I dont thin so.. I'm scared of insects.. I probably will but only if there's nothing left to eat or if someone will pay me to do it.. that looks more like something that came form Fear Factor.. My sister tried eating scorpions in THailand when she visited.. and grasshoppers..

And would you dare eat garden snails? When I was doing census work, I came to a house where they were cooking garden snails for lunch.
