Okay so if your school is anything like mine then when you were in eighth grade you had to study the lyrics to Simon and Garfunkel's "The Sound of Silence". And if you're on the internet enough then you know the line "Hello, darkness, my old friend." Simon and Garfunkel wrote this song as their way of saying that people don't communicate or listen to each other. What they don't realize is that the message is even more relevant now that we have cell phones and the internet. You don't have to go and look at someone to talk to them.
So for today's song you can listen to the original or the cover done by the band Disturbed. Both are beautiful and slow and I know you guys will enjoy them as much as I do.

No, I didn't study the lyrics to that song in school. We did, however, do S&G's "Richard Cory," based on the Edward Arlington Robinson poem. Friends of mine covered "The Sound of Silence" on their final album.

Wow. I didn't know that it was just my town that does this particular song for school.
