Is the Earth round? A question to end the day.

The day has ended. And it seems that few people are up because I don´t see much movement anywhere.
At these moments I have certain suspicion if what they taught me about the Earth being round is true
Maybe teachers told me stories so that we didn´t make so much noise in class
I leave you with this problem. As for me, I´m going to bed. Maybe I´ll solve it while I sleep.

If the Earth isn't round, then why do we have sunset and sunrises at different times of the day?

@marguicha It wouldn't be the case if the Earth weren't "tilted."

I was taught it was round, then pear shaped. When I was little I was taught that Pluto was a planet. Now some say it isn´t and some call it a dwarf planet. Why would it be less a planet just for being small?

I´m SO glad you will have a new computer. I am happy with just a new keyboard.

I never thought of an Earth as a coconut. It must be because we have no coconuts here. Teachers spoke of oranges when I was a child.

@LadyDuck I think that sentence was beautiful! You had an imagination! Being a grown up does not mean we should lose our capability to make believe.

So it is said. But I can still imagine how daring those sailors were, many centuries ago, thinking that they might fall off the Earth

@marguicha When I was 3 years old, we were walking in the woods with my Dad and I remember that I asked what if we arrived at the "end of the world". Silly kid.

Maybe more like an egg shape with all the water dripping off the bottom?

@shshiju And imagine a ship like that with sailors who did not think that the Earth was round!

@marguicha Were they smaller than we might think?

I think that question has long been resolved and recent photos taken by astronauts if orbital flight further support the fact of the earth being round.

Nothing in the world has been resolved. It is ever changing. Don´t trust photos. Your eye sees things that my eyes don´t.

It seems that everything we used to learn is wrong now.

@porwest When I think about reality I always remember about how centuries ago scientists "demostrated" that mice could be born only if you placed some rags in the attic. No need to have a "mother mouse"".

@marguicha Well, wrong according to some. According to those who want to deny reality. lol
