Man kills 4 people driving through our little town

Friday afternoon, about 2:30 pm, a man was driving a dump truck. The truck was pulling a large utility trailer. The trailer came away from the truck and crashed into two vehicles traveling in the opposite lane. When the dust settled, 4 people were dead and the truck driver fled the scene. There were two people in each vehicle and none were from our little town, but it sure shook things up. These dump trucks fly down the roads and I would bet this guy was flying too. They say that they have evidence that the truck driver, John Wesley Bennett, may have been on drugs or under the influence of alcohol. Bennett fled the scene and ran into the woods. He is probably far from here by now, but hopefully someone knows where he is and turns him in. He needs to pay for killing 4 innocent people. He was driving on a revoked license but like the DA said, that's a minor charge compared to killing 4 people. Photo: pixabay.com/en/tombstone-grave-halloween-rip-151566/

Oh my goodness this is a tragic accident. Yesterday, not far from our village, a 84 old man has lost control of his car and has entered into a restaurant area killing two and seriously hurting 13 people.

@AbbyGreenhill No, it seems he has no medical issues, but he entered a pedestrian area, panicked and mistook clutch for brake.

That`s terrible Anna, not against senior citizens but most accidents are caused by seniors and drunk teens.

I'm sure they'll find him sooner or later and make him pay for what he's done. And let's face it. He can try to escape the law but he will always have his own demons inside him to remind him of what he did. He can never escape those.

That is just awful! People like that (who drive under the influence of anything), don't deserve to ever see the light of day again! They deserve life sentences! I have no tolerance for people like that! May those 4 people rest in peace!

Yes, it is sad and since its not far from where we live it really hit close to home...we were about 1/2 mile from that accident site a few hours earlier.

I sure hope they find this man and sentence him to a long term in prison for killing 4 people. If he was under the influence then he needs to pay for that as he did have a choice.

running away so rarely is a good idea, they almost always figure out who it was, and then there are more charges. so sad that this time people were killed.

Murder is murder. In traffic cases the authorities give it as less charged one as accidents but it is not fair.

It will probably be vehicular manslaughter.
