I didn't like mine as a child. It sounded more Scottish than American. There were no bicycle license plates with my name on them at the corner store. The lady never said "I see (Horse)" on Romper Room. But once I accepted it, I preferred to to nicknames.

I do like my name. When I was younger people used to call me Jen mostly but now most people call me by my full name. The only thing I didn't like is when I was in school there were many Jennifer's in my classes and that got annoying sometimes.

Wonderful photo, I'm ok with Kevin but prefer Kev. Over the last few years Kevin seem to work ok unlike a few years ago it had to be Kev.

I like my birth name and not many people have it. I don't like being called Celstea it just irritates me but if you call me Celeste or Cessy I'm okay. Now I pretty much go by mom, mama or little mama.

I am Isabelle and I definitely didn't like it as a child. Now I love my name but it took a while.

@amadeo I know but when you are a kid especially in the 50's it was unusual and a bit odd!! And if I never hear "Is a bell needed on a bicycle" again it will be too soon lol

I see nothing wrong with my given name. Judy and not Judith as some would say and I would tell them no.

I do. I could've been called Laura, which was the same name my neighbors back in NJ called my friend and former neighbor. But I do like Kris and Kristen.

Yeah I do like my given name. My mother did a good job back there! And I think my surname goes well with my first name and I am lucky for that.
I am not very happy with my nickname though.
