I find a random word by flipping through my 2003 The New Webster’s Concise Dictionary and write a quick – often silly – little post about it.

“placer – Mining. 1 A deposit of sand, gravel, etc., containing gold or other mineral in particles that can be isolated by washing. 2 Any place where deposits are washed for valuable minerals.”
Good to know if you ever try to stake a claim.
