recently, maybe about a year ago, discovered how wonderful historical fiction can be. I think it's a matter of the truth and the fact that it's very real with just a touch of fantasy/fiction involved.
Recently I read a story called "The Kitchen Boy" about the Romanov Empire and it's fall.
I've always been interested in the whole story anyways, with Anastaysia and Rasputin and all of the interesting characters involved.
It was probably a given that I'd love this story, told by the lowly kitchen boy who went with the family when held captive.
He gives his accounting of the life they led imprisoned inside one of their many castles in Siberia.
He tells not only of the life they endured but of the brutal and horrid murders of the entire family.
Do you have a favorite historical fiction book you've read? Please share the title and author if you can!

Skye O'Malley. It's a historical romance. This lady was an intelligent and fiercely independent woman who even had an opportunity to become a pirate. Loaded with action and adventure! The author, Bertrice Small is a bestselling writer and has written several books like this. But this was my first and my favorite.

My eleven-year-old daughter and I have recently been reading and loving the Rush Revere Series.
It's about a teacher that time-travels to America's past, to see how its foundations began.
When I was a teen, I loved the books by Brock and Bodie Thoene. Specifically, the Zion Covenant Series. It was about a girl who helped Jews escape in WW2, by smuggling passports, etc. in her violin.

excellent! Sounds not only interesting but I agree that when the author is thorough it makes a much better story.
