TOMATO RASAM - No house in South India without Which

Rasam or we call it Juice in simple terms has got many varieties. But, the most famous and preferred one is South India is TOMATO RASAM . It can serve as food item, as juice, as side Dish for IDLIS (breakfast), as a supporter for digestion, as a soup , and lastely as a supplement for emptying stomach after heavy inner. Heat the Oil in a shallow vesel an when it is hot add Mustard an fenugreek an when they splutter add hing an red chillis. Add curry leaves an fry it for a minute. Add Tomato, Salt an turmeric . Fry for 3 minutes Cook it covered until the tomatoes become mushy. Ad water an Rasam powder. Allow it to boil an add Tamarin paste. Boil the whole thing till the Liqui becomes somewhat thicker. A coriander leave an pepper power an after 2 minutes off the stove THE FAVORITE TOMATO RASAM IS READY NOW. SERVE WITH HOT RICE.

Yes , we also cook rasam almost every alternate day and it is my favorite.
