forums and bots

I do some paid forum posting on other sites, and one of the forums I went to, had something like two posters, two guests, and 4 bots..Why would a forum want a bot and what would they do? I am not sure i get that.

Usually a bot is there to check if you are a bot yourself or a real person.

except some people on the forums have like more than one bot..so not sure why that would be necessary

Some people install bots so they spam and they get a lot of money and they try to withdraw before they are banned.
