Listing Books On Ebay

United States
May 12, 2016 9:44am CST
My project for today is to list a whole bunch of books on Ebay. I have two big boxes of books that I'm going to list for sale with the high hopes that most of them will bring in some cash. Books can be a hit or miss when selling on Ebay and sometimes I do very well and other times not so much. With the warmer months coming I'm hoping that people are looking for good books for summer reading. My aunt is an avid reader and she will send me a box of books occasionally so I acquire many more books than I can possibly read. So, I go through the box and keep the ones I know I'll read and try to find good homes for the rest. Whatever doesn't sell this time will be donated to our local library.

I used to sell things on ebay, but I have found that unless I want to almost give it away, it's hard to find a buyer. EBay is so huge now, chances are there are many items identical to yours.

I can hardly wait to sell stuff on ebay again. That is my extra money.

I would love to see books on ebay if I thought I could make a profit.

I aquire a lot of books also. I've sold some on Ebay over the years, but like you said, sometimes they sell and sometimes they don't. I've sold a few on local FB yard sale sites and often just donate them to our local library.

I've tried selling mine at yard sales but people usually want them for practically nothing. At least with Ebay I can make a few dollars per book

It's hard to sell books if you're attached to them. It took me a long time to decide which ones to part with

Years ago I used to sell books on E-bay but then postage went up so much, it wasn't feasible. I hope you can sell yours. I think you have a better postage rate than we do for books.

I usually offer free shipping and only make a few dollars for each book

I just bought some books this morning from a thrift store as they had some new books there which looked interesting. I have never bought any books from ebay but I think it would be expensive for shipping.

We tried donating brand new books to our local library and they would not take them. So we sold most of them on ebay.

I was going to donate my books to our library but at the time they weren't accepting any books. Now they are back to taking donations so if my books don't sell I'll just bring them to the library

I would think that any time of the year used books would be good sellers. Good luck!

I have bought a couple of hard to find books on Ebay, but isn't the postage very high?

Depending on how much the book weighs media mail can range in price from almost $3 to $4

My husband had been selling various items on eBay for about six months. It really is hit or miss. Best of luck to you.

Postal fees went up. I paid $3.35 to mail a book the other day I sold on eBay. Then eBay fees and Paypal fees, I am not making much.

Media mail has gone up and it's cut into profits considerably

I haven't listed anything on Ebay for a while. I've been thinking of things to put up, but been busy with other things.

My husband and I are big readers and we have given away more than a thousand books so far. We keep only the ones that you think we might need for reference.

I have been selling a few to a local bookshop and donating others. Our postage charges have soared the last few years and books can be heavy to post.

I was considering that with my book collection at the house, but I really just didn't feel like shipping out all those books (with moving on top if it!) so I donated all of mine to the library. They were pretty happy. lol

I was also a skilled reader of books but with the new generation of ebooks the old books have lost much value
