I woke up this morning and switched on the local news like I usually in the morning to discover that public schools are now being forced to allow student to use the public restroom that fits there gender preference. They state that by not allowing a transgender child to use the public bathroom they are comfortable with they are infringing on there civil rights. how does everyone feel about this?

The main point of the controversy is not infringing on transgendered civil rights but opening the Pandora's Box of problems. How many boys will pretend or decide for a day that their gender preference is female just in hopes of getting a "peak" in the girls room. How about an adult male teacher claiming gender preference who goes into the girls room to get a "peak."

@omni234 Of course they didn't. It's all about trampling over rights and trying to destroy conservative Christian America by any means possible.

Exactly! what about the rights of children to individual privacy? and how do you keep the children safe from the adult predator in this situation? has the Obama administration even take this into consideration?

It's getting to the point of ridiculous, someone's rights are getting stepped on be it the transgender person or others. It's a lose lose situation. While I do understand the transgender persons rights, what about the majority's rights. Our world is just getting more stupid by the day. And all this about going to the bathroom. My god there are much more important issues in the world today, going to the bathroom is not one of them.

Just another example of how the government decides what's good for us without asking our opinion, and bulling us into following what they say is right thing to do. Why tackle the tougher topics such as terrorism or unemployment when you can get a nice pat on the back for fluff.

It is all a question of what is a transgender child? Two children I read about seemed to be put into a body that is the opposite of what it should be. This one child was screamed at by a parent of another child for using a washroom the child thought was where they should be. Lack of understanding on the part of the adults not the children.

I tell my daughter not to drink a lot and try to hold her piss until she gets home, if she can. Not a joke. When it comes to her safety, I don't have time to argue with “officials”. I just tell her to make sound and sensible decisions to protect herself. Because if she gets violated, all the “deciders” are gonna say is “Ooops! Sorry.” Bottom line: Do you know what's safe for you? Then do it!! Debate. Debate. Debate. There is not a human being on the planet who doesn't know when their human rights are being violated, unless they are too young and innocent to know any better.

It may seem a bit odd but I guess there's really nothing much we can do but just let them choose wherever they want to go in. To be honest I have my own thoughts about this but this issue is somehow very sensitive I could you know, get some hate from them. Anyways, Its not very human for us not to let them in right?
