Do You Have Any of Your High School Year Books?

I still have all four of my high school yearbooks and I look at them from time to time and remember so many pleasant memories.
I attended a very small high school in a very small coal-mining town in West Virginia. There were less than 50 students in my graduating class. In 2009, I attended a high school reunion and was able to see quite a few of my classmates, most of which had moved away years ago, like me. I got all of their email addresses and have kept in touch with a few of them.
There is a freelance writer, Walter A. Day, Jr., who deals in celebrity yearbooks. First, he identifies a celeb’s alma mater and then he tracks down classmates who are willing to part with their copies of their yearbooks – for a price. He has collected dozens of yearbooks.
His most expensive purchase was the $1000 he paid for Elvis Presley’s 1953 Humes High, Memphis, TN yearbook. He sometimes sells his books at a profit to other collectors and dealers. Supposedly, he refused $5000 for a JFK (1935 Choate School) yearbook.
Did you go to school with someone who became a celebrity?

I still have all of mine as well. I cringe at most of my hairstyles back then haha. I like looking back at who I was friends with and whom I'm still friends with from high school. Bittersweet days. My 10 year reunion just passed as well. Couldn't go though sadly.

I mostly wore a pony tail in high school, except for the last week of school.. I always had my hair cut in a "pixie" cut for the summer. We didn't have air conditioning in our house back then.
This is a picture of me, my senior year in high school. You can't see my pony tail though.

@Marcyaz I get a lot of my pictures from Pixabay.com. It's a great place to get photos to add to your articles.

Unfortunately, I didn't end up being classmates with anybody famous - hopefully one day! :) I don't have my yearbook with me but it is with my Mom. I live in a different country as her so most of my childhood memories were left behind when I relocated.

What's it like living in Dublin? Ireland is such a beautiful country. From where did you relocate? How long have you been in Dublin? Just curious.

@IreneVincent Oh, it's nice here, except when it rains. Ugh! I relocated from Melbourne but I came originally from the Philippines. I just got here after getting married so it's been almost 4 years since I relocated here. But I left home since 2008. :)

@Marcyaz Where in Ohio? I've certainly been to that state many times. And all over California too.

I'm glad I kept my yearbooks all these years. Don't you think it's fun to look through them again?

@IreneVincent Every time I get an email or see something on facebook I always go to the year book to see the people. With 1000 graduates I have a nice fat yearbook.

I have no high school yearbooks as I wanted to forget high school and had no money for them or class rings.
Didn't go to school with a future celebrity but my high school boasted Alan Ladd as a grad.

Alan Ladd was one of my favorite actors. I heard that he wasn't very tall.

I graduated high school in 1960 in Clifton, New Jersey and had 1,000 students graduate with me. We only had 3 years of high school as a new and bigger school was being built at the time. I still have my last yearbook and I even ran our 50th year reunion. I keep my yearbook near my desk and will look at it when I see someone on facebook that graduated with me.

I graduated in 1959, so we are about the same age, I would imagine. I was 17 years old when I graduated. I went to my 50th high school reunion and sang on stage with the live band the alumni had hired for the evening. I sang on stage and with live bands all through high school but my classmates were still surprised that I could still sing.
If you would like to hear me sing one song. Follow this link to youtube.com I had this song recorded one night at a karaoke bar in Virginia Beach about 3 years ago. My oldest son put it on youtube along with a photo he took in Jamaica. I was visiting him in NC and I had taken the CD so that I could play it for him and his wife. So, he decided to put it on youtube.
I'm trying to get more people to go there and listen. It's not a video and its not perfect, but not too bad for karaoke.
My son gets an email every time someone comments on my song and I have a bet going with him that I can get 500 views by the end of the year. I need about 100 more views. Help me out, please.
