Let's have a little fun with this statement. Please add your own comment. You know that you are old when.... 1. Your gray hair defeats what remains of your natural hair. Bye, bye brown. Get out of town! 2. You spend more time listening to the oldies and saying how great the music was back then. We are talking 60's folks. 3. The battle of your waistline puts up the white flag in defeat. 4. You spend more time talking about your health than any other subject. 5. You start feeling the affects of Empty Nest Syndrome. Okay, your turn. Be creative.

Surely 1 and 2 are true for me, not the other three, let's say that possibly I aged gracefully.

I kind of like this one: The battle of your waistline puts up the white flag in defeat. (cue 'Taps') I thought of this one some years back : You know you are getting old when your kids start asking you, 'did you have (insert modern gadget) when you were a kid?' questions. And I wasn't actually all THAT old when I felt that one. A couple of years ago, a co-worker mentioned how the apartment she used to live it was REALLY OLD, and she knew it was because it had those 'screw in things, sort of like light bulbs' in the electrical panel. It took me a couple moments before I realized she meant 'fuses' Yeah, kid, really really ancient. I was thinking something like 'knob and tube'

When the television is more comforting than having tea with friends at a coffee shop.

When you have to explain to your child what a cassette tape is because he's never seen/heard of one! Or when you realised that many of the items with which your children have grown up and could not imagine a world without, are things you remember being invented (or things you've never heard of because you stopped paying attention to new-fangled things several years ago).

1. when no longer smile. 2. when you no longer love. 3. when you do not care. 4.when you are alone. 5. when you do not have motivation, you're resigned. 6.when nothing but static, nothing impresses yourself, stimulate ... 7. when you're afraid.

You know that you are old when you would rather sit home and watch TV than go to a party or out to hear live music.

You know you're getting old when you bend over to pick something up and wonder what else you can do while you're down there.

... You have a problem remembering your kids names - let alone recollecting your grand kids ... You sleep more than you have too - and yet say you don't get enough sleep ... You set reminders on your small basiccellphone for every little thing!! { truthfully - these are not personal experiences... just what I have noticed with folks in my family :-) }
