37 years and 10 years

It was my 37th birthday and 10th wedding anniversary yesterday. We don't really celebrate these, but we went out for lunch together with the children. It's just so nice to see I am already 37, and reaching 40 soon. I always wish I will be calmer and gentler when I am 40, that's a small goal for myself. So, three more years for me to practice mindfulness and joyfulness.

I have known my husband for more than 22 years, and we have been married for 10 years. I am grateful to have him as my best friend, my husband, my soul mate and the person I am walking together along the journey in my life. I hope there will be more peaceful and joyful days and years for us and for you too!

Congratulations to both of you and the children. I am much calmer than I was at 37 but the change happened when the Children went out on thier own. I think motherhood is wonderful but when they get to be adults, you can breath again...

Thanks. I think I can relate to that, though my children are still very young now, I can already feel like having more personal time as they have grown up a bit. When my third baby is born, I don't think I will be this free to come online often.

Yes, we registered on my birthday. My husband actually wanted it to be on 20 May (520 - sounds like I love you in Chinese), but it was not available for registration, so we picked a week before that, which is just happened to be my birthday as well.

I actually always forgot about the anniversary, as we didn't really celebrate. My husband always remembered, but he didn't remind me.

I am actually giving myself a target, 3 years from now.

But, I heard from some homeschooling moms, they really became gentler and more mindful after 40 years old. Of course, it's not that they didn't work for it and just reached there, they have been striving for it too.
