Upset...angry...

I'm from India. It's pretty common here to live with one's parents. I do. And they're fighting again. I'm 23 and I still can't handle it. It's like something inside me breaks into pieces. Every single time. It's a deep set childhood trauma and I've never known how to deal with it. I feel so miserable. I feel like howling. It's always been so difficult.

Arguments are but normal between couples. Do they kiss and make up the next day? Is my question a bit offensive for Indian culture?

Nothing offensive. But you won't find people here doing so at least people from the last generation. Even if they do it's never in the presence of their children. A little while after he's done shouting he'd behave like nothing happened. The problem with my father is that he doesn't realize he's wrong.

If you have independent income I feel you can tell them you need peace at home or otherwise you will have to find your own place. That should make them pause and think - siva

It's not only about my personal peace. It hurts to see my mother suffer like that. My father is a man who shouts over nothing. No logic, no reason, nothing.
