She didn't buy it due to the dog ears.

Sent the photo she asked me for she wants to see what i am talking about. And didn't buy them.
"Dog ears".
That is what she said when she saw the little folds on few.pages.of the book i am trying to.sell.
After a lot of picture sharing, cover--front and back, each sides of the books, she didn't buy the books.
Have been honest of the conditions of the books--no missing pages, even put on tape to avoid the cover to be torn, but those little folds have made her not to buy the books.
Those.little folds are "signs", that there are lines where i can ponder to, yeah, i do that.
Why those little folds made her not to buy my books?
She will resell them.
I appreciate her honesty. And i glad with it.
Loved my books, i am selling them for low price because i want buyers to buy and read them and not to resell them.
So...i am still waiting for buyers again.
The one who is more of a book reader and not a business minded.
What do you think of my purpose of selling them?
P.S. Our area is flood prone, many of my books weren't saved and i want to pass my books before they will be destroyed.

Can't you just store them in a big plastic container where it won't be damaged when there's flood. My Uncle who passed away had a huge collection of books and now it's in my Aunt's house, everything in tact.

@sunrisefan styrofoam can be pricey. Use empty water bottles instead.

@Lucky15 Follow the suggestion of Ms.Toni and attach styrofoam below the plastic containers. When the floodwaters come, your plastic containers will then float LOL!

Well your books deserves a better home then. Although for me dog ears aren't much of a deal. There are plenty of 2nd hand book shops here and frankly it's more practical and cheap to buy from them. As long as the words are all there I'm good to go. What book is it?

I am sorry, Reine, but I don't like to see a book mistreated. When I buy one and have read it, you cannot tell it has ever been opened. I WANT my books to continue to look like new, even those I have owned for 50 years are still neat and clean. No tears in the pages, no pages missing and no folded pages.
Yes, after 50 years some of my books have yellowed pages, but that only shows their age, not that they were mistreated or damaged from reading.
I would not buy your books, either.
Many of my books are Collector's Editions, signed by the various authors, that is true, but even the cheap books I purchase are kept in pristine condition.

@Lucky15 You only own five books that are considered Collector's Editions? Or something else?
Which emoji do we not have here, Reine? Cry? You mean this one?

I use to be an avid reader before the advent of the internet/computer. I still have several bookshelves of books some dating over 50 years old and dog-earred. I have given away many but just seem to have a hard time parting with old friends. :)

I've never understood why some people make such an issue over "dog-eared" pages in books. That's how I was taught to mark my place in a book as long as it was my book. If I am buying a book used, it's not a big deal to me. It's just a crease in the page and doesn't affect the ability to read a book. Maybe it if was a collectors book or something, but that's about it. I hope you are able to use some of the suggestions you were given for preserving your books and are able to keep them.

i think it would be better to use a book mark instead of putting dog ears so your books will have no more folds, don't you think so?

I remember one of my instructors in my first year in college. She didn't like our notebooks to have those dog ears. Hihihi! She once said to a classmate, "Your notebook has so many dog ears!" And the whole class murmured, dog ears(?) Hahaha! That was the first time we heard of that term.

I like to keep my books in pristine condition. You wouldn't know if they have been read or not. lol Only couple of them are in bad shape due to me being lazy with them.

@Lucky15 I do. I don't even like to mark anything in there especially with a pen. Pencil is fine. Anything permanent is a strict no no.

Do you have a library you could donate them to, if all you want is for them to have a new good home.
Sometimes you can sell books online in a lot of several books and people will buy them. Coudln't promise they would not be resold though.

Seriously, if I read books and bought them then I don't think that would be an issue for me.

I used to hate it when my mother dog eared books. Now I don't mind as much because I have new bookmark that leaves marks on books.
