Has anyone successfully started a business? I am wanting to start a business and work for myself. But have a few things I would want to do. How did you get started? What is your business? Are you glad you started your own business? Has it been rough? Any good signs.

Good topic, please share unless you want to keep it a secret what things you want to do. Starting depends on the nature of the business. Be prepared for a lot more work than working for an employer. Self employed people are generally harder workers and much more dedicated.

I thought of selling candles, as a kind of a side hustle. They are pretty easy to make and I love any thing dealing with smell. Think it would be fun to develop my own scents. I also wanted to eventually become a trainer or something like that. I also want to make a living helping others raise their self esteem. I'm just not sure in what other ways I can do that beside exercise. I wouldn't mind starting fitness line, as far as work out clothing. I also want to dive deep in amazon publishing, as I really enjoy writing. Making up stories etc. So getting all my ideas together and coming up with something solid is what I'm working on now, as I know I am all over the place. I also wanted to own a ice cream truck. lol. Yea I know all over the place. But I'm working on figuring it all out.

Cottage industry or better known as small business, self owned is always a good business as long as their is enough interest and the demand for profit isn't too great?
I had a personal friend that sold jams. She bought a lot of jars made good products much of which came out of her garden fresh. People on the weekend easily part with the extra money they carry around with them and see sold at special events where they gathered during the summer. She didn't get rich but actually made good money doing it.
So it is possible.

I dont know how things work there, but i have been self employed before, had a very successful beauty parlour.it`s not all smooth sailing when you get started and it`s more work than people think but well worth it.
Unfortunately had to close my business due to health reasons and divorce.Could i do it all over again_? not sure,i dont have the money and i dont know if i can work as hard as i did back then to build everything from scratch.
