Random Word Post – pedal pushers

I find a random word by flipping through my 2003 The New Webster’s Concise Dictionary and write a quick – often silly – little post about it. # “pedal pushers – Women’s and girls’ trousers reaching to the calf, originally used for bicycling.” I know nothing of fashion, so I don’t see the reason for … any of this.

They are still around. I think they are called capris, now. They have also been known as puddle jumpers. They are between shorts and long pants and usually reserved for warmer weather.

When I think of a pedal pusher, it reminds me of people who ride bikes.

I used to wear pedal pushers when I was 18.
