Over the weekend I finished listening to Room. Room is a book by Emma Donoghue. There is a movie based on the book. I'm watching the movie. Tomorrow I'll post on the differences of the book and movie. Warning: this book is sad. The book is in the voice of 5 year boy. His mother was kidnapped at the age of 19. She was raped twice and her son is the product of that rape. They live in a room that is like a dungeon. They do have a tv and a sunlight that brings in light in the daytime. The boy's name is Jack. He sleeps in a wardrobe. He thinks that everything on tv is not real. Everything like trees, lakes, etc. They do escape, but he has a hard time believe things are real. I sorta like this book. It's really sad. Right now I'm reading Grace of Mercy. I'm hoping to finish that one today.

Hehe in my case sometimes right after I watch some sad movies I kind of feel depressed It's like I couldn't get over the story and I would carry the feeling for days. Then I'd tell myself to stay away from movies like this but later on I would get the feeling like I want more..

I like sad stories. Sometimes I spend hours just searching for movie titles that are really sad, I mean depressing, no what I really mean is those that are not like any ordinary sad films out there. Just last night I watched this movie called "The Beauty Inside", It's a korean film. It's kinda sad but not that much,. It's about a man who would wake up each day with a different body. Sometimes he could be a woman, a child, or even an old man. Then he met a girl and they fell in love and the story goes on. Great film!

@flipitup My mother used to get mad at me when I picked movies for us for to watch. She used to say I always find sad ones. It's not always my fault. For example one year I wanted for me and her to watch the movie StepMom. All I knew was that it was supposed to be a great movie, but it was really, really sad movie.

That does sound like a sad book. Is it based on a true story?
