The Dogs and the Landscapers

As many of you know, when my daughter and family moved in a few months ago they brought two little dogs with them.
I live in a community where our landscaping is done so every Monday they are here with their big riding mowers and the guys who go around with the weed whackers. It's a bit noisy for most of the morning as it takes them a few hours to do all the work.
Once they leave I take the dogs out in the back for their walk and they always have to sniff and sniff and sniff. Seems that when the landscapers come they disrupt their favorite spot somehow and they have to mark their new territory.
Today it's sunny but very windy and I was pleading with the dogs to hurry up but NO, they had to do their sniffing routine until they felt comfortable enough to finally do their business.
Now I'm wind-blown and my hair is standing on end but at least the dogs got their walk done.

I truly believe animals have a hard time understanding all the "silly" things their owners do or have done.

Pets are so funny! My cat is like that whenever someone comes in here, whether it's a delivery person or someone coming to visit. When they leave, my cat has to sniff the whole apartment to see who it was and make sure they are gone so she can rub up against everything again, letting the world know that this is HER place! lol

They are fussy little nuggets. Lol. My brother had a Shepard that went in the wooded area. One day he changed to the area where they pitch horse shoes. He was getting older and didn't wander far off the beaten path.

You'd wonder what they are actually finding out with their sniffing. I know they say dogs get a lot of knowledge from these habits but you'd wonder what it actually is.

We have had really windy days here lately too. I think today it's finally calmed down a bit.
