Random Word Post – Francophobe

I find a random word by flipping through my 2003 The New Webster’s Concise Dictionary and write a quick – often silly – little post about it. # “Francophobe – Noun. A person who fears or dislikes France or French things. Adjective. Fearful of France.” Someone who dislikes France makes sense, I mean, it’s France. But someone who fears France? I mean, it’s France.

I would not call this "Francophobia", but "French bashing". Be reassured : the percentage of French doing "American bashing" is approximately the same than the % of Americans doing "French bashing", and there are a lot of bad clichés on both sides, supposed to be funny.

Doesn't this describe most of the English speaking world?

There is the similar Anglophobe. On the flip side is Francophile.
