How many times have you dropped your phone before it broke?

I've dropped my phone at least a million times. Then I dropped it a million and one. I guess that was one to many. My phone usually falls apart with the back flying in one direction the battery in the other and the main part straight down. When I dropped it this time, I should have known before I picked up the phone. It fell and laid intact at my feet. I picked it up to find the screen had cracked. I could use it if I didn't mind the sharp edges grazing me every time I swiped. So I decided to get another one.

@topffer Top? There are several ways you might could have still gotten your information out of your phone's memory, or even from the cloud, assuming you back your phone up to the cloud.
Even if your phone won't power on anymore, as long as the circuits were not damaged in the drop, you can still plug it into a computer that has the driver loaded to read your phone and pull all the folders from the memory core. Open the folders and extract exactly what you want from them.
You can even bypass an elaborate locking system in this fashion!

@DaddyEvil You will be happy to know I have had lots of phones that last two or three years. I just buy the cheap ones because I expect them to break the way I drop them. LOL

@mommaj That's because my cell doesn't see that much action. Right now it's tucked away in my purse. It's only used in emergencies. It's an Obama phone. So it's only good for talk and text only and since I don't text at least not that much, I really don't use it. I only need to use it once every 30 days to keep it active.

Once. I've dropped my iPhone once face down.

@mommaj The phone didn't break as I was using a tempered glass. The tempered glass broke though but I replaced it. It's not as expensive as changing the gorilla glass of the phone itself.

Several, mommaj! Luckily for me, my phone was made using Corning Gorilla Glass. It can survive drops twice as much as phones made using the next best glass. LOL!
My phone is almost two years old, now. It has chips missing from the bezel (frame) around the glass, but the glass is still in perfect shape. (Now watch, I will drop the dang thing tomorrow and shatter it!)

@mommaj I will take my chances, I think... phones are made to be used, not left on the shelf to preserve them!
