It wa either, i am one the millions unemployed or accept it.
When i was asked to look after our father, after our mother died, never said no, for i just quit on.my office job that time.
When our father died 3 years after, i look for a job somewhere.near but my age won't let me land one. (Am on my late 20s and companies here don't want me because of it, not liking the system).
One of my sister asked me if i am willing to work overseas, and as a domestic helper.
With my "ideas" of a helper, i was.hesitant at first, thinking of, being a degree.holder and ends up being one. (Ego)
I made a choice, not thinking about what i finished in college. Have to earn for a living and save aome for my future, don't want to depend on my siblings, financially.
Well, being a domestic helper was an eye opener.
How my fellow Filipinos.worked hard for their family, how they feel being.far.from.family and how their family have become (husband womanizing, their children missed.school due to not so good friends). I thought they only happens in the movies. But it was not.
Their struggle is REAL.
It was one memorable experience even if i just work as one for more than a year.(due to health reason).
Would you ever land on a job that you feel you shouldn't be into?

As a single mom I had to work jobs I didn't like to put food on the table. Thankfully I was able to find a job I liked but I still remember the tough ones

The only job that's on my mind that i would never ever want to be is to become a politician!
Will I be a domestic helper. I'm not qualified at all. Can't cook, can't clean the house, can't do laundry, can't iron.

@Lucky15 I remember seeing a TV programme about it, and I think it was HongKong that was featured. Apparently there were a lot of workers who had lost their jobs (mostly through no fault of their own) and couldn't afford the fare home, so they were living on the streets.
I'm glad that your employer was kind.

some folks do well with workin' abroad, but mostly those who're single'n 've no other obligations. but, bein' domestic help'n some countries sounds to me to be somewhat'f a prison sentence :( so many're takin' advantage'f, abused 'n those back home can't handle the pressure'f 'em bein' gone.
i've'd some purty crappy jobs myself though, we do what we can to survive.

That sounds very stressful. I have been lucky, the few times I worked out of the house was fine and the money was good but when i started my own business, painting, I was very happy, To sell my products to local store and enjoy staying home.

I had declined a lot of opportunities, even those that are related to my course. I think it's my being too stubborn that made me decide not to take those. But I don't really think I like the job or I don't want to work with or I don't want to be dictated. Ahahaha Lots of excuses. But of course, if I have no more alternative jobs, I might accept jobs even those that i don't want.

Being on a job that you feel you shouldn't be into is for me a situation that is hard to accept.
I got into a job which I really don't like and I find it so difficult to adjust.
I really need to earn money that time for my children so I don't have any choice but to accept it.

I was assigned to do bookkeeping. I had no idea what to do. I'm an engineering graduate and they want me to work on bookkeeping. I didn't stayed long though. Imagine the stress I've been through.

I have worked in jobs where I wasn't happy at all. I left a couple and was unemployed for a while. But soon found another.

Well I have been lucky enough to land on jobs which I have always loved. But have many friends who are always complaining about what they do. but as you said, life is not always fair and the struggle is real. So we just have to work for that 'Dream Job' unless you are not already doing it...
