When was the last time you got sick?

Ever since I hatched the idea of coming back home for good, a series of misfortunes turned my usually uneventful life upside down. The most current, and the reason why I was away from here for quite a while, ladies and gentlemen, for the first time ever, I got sick!
I was down with influenza and I was in bed for a few days and up to this moment, still nursing this nasty sore throat.
I’m sorry for the fanfare really but after how many years of living here, I can’t help but ask, why now? When I already believed I am invincible; free from the fever and flu of winter and the allergies of spring, why now?
Not so long ago I was scratching my head why all my co-workers succumbed to this and that while I remained mask-less and medicine-independent. How I envied them for calling in sick, enjoying the comforts of their bed. I even asked God to make me sick for a day. I bet God is LOL at me right now.
CONCLUSION: Maybe I had to experience this before I come back home because the bottom line is it’s not easy being sick when nobody is there to take care of you. Always appreciate those who are by your side.

I stayed 6 months in Bangkok without getting sick. Every time I felt like I was going to come down with something, I take vitamin C. I overdosed myself with Vitamin C!
And you're right, it's hard to be sick when there's nobody to take care of you. Get well soon.

Do you live far away from your family? It is good that you are okay now. Health is wealth. I get sad whenever I get sick because it spoil my schedules.

Get well soon please. I got sick just last week. And up to now, I do not still feel completely well since I still have my running nose. It is really difficult to get sick when there is no one beside you to take good care of you. I am thankful that when I get sick, my mom and sisters always stay by my side and provide all my needs.

@sol_cee Thanks. Yes, my mom is my guardian angel. When my dad was still with us, he used to take good care of me too. He would always sit on my bed and check my body temperature. He would always be like that and when I get awake he would give me foods to eat. I miss my dad.

I am sorry to hear you are sick now, and it sounds quite serious that you have to be in the bed for days. Yes, I think it's not fun to be sick while nobody is taking care of you, but it's worse when you still need to take care of others while you are sick.
Now, I always try to keep myself healthy and not fall sick, because I still have to take care of two young children. It's really not fun at all if I can't rest while I am sick.
I just fell sick two days ago, not cold or cough, but I think I have eaten something wrong, and caused me stomach pain. It lasted for more than a day, then it's cured by itself.
Hope you will get well very soon.

We can never be too confident about not getting sick. As a mom of four boys I've always told myself to never get sick as there are just always things they depend on me to do. But never is just impossible and we all have no choice but to cope with it. Get well soon!

I have something right now causing me to be sick. I am not sure if it is a sinus infection or just a cold. It started with a bad sore throat for a few days and bad sinus pain. Now I am sneezing my blowing my nose a lot and have a headache. I have been taking zinc and garlic trying to get rid of this... also my usual probiotic and vitamins.

If you are asking about being physically sick like with a fever, it has been awhile and I hope to be sick-free for some more time.
If it pertains to being sick and tired of life, yeah happens just about every second.

Now I can feel how an OFW feels when she gets sick all alone in a foreign country. It is really hard, but I know you are strong and soon will be fine!
