There was thunder and these flowers have emerged

These flowers are known as thunderball. The plants are tubers and they remain dormant in the ground. At the sound of first thunder they spring up almost overnight just as it happened this time. There was thunder and I see buds showing. They will all bloom fully in a few days' time The image on the left is what was seen today and the image on the right was the image of flowers in full bloom taken last year.

Thunder brings them out? How odd. They come out of the dry soil without rain?

That is so amazing! They look like Scadoxus; a South African friend once gave me one to grow on my windowsill. Luckily in that case it came up of its own accord, I didn't have to wait for thunder!
