First round of "will you fix my house"?

We got the first check from the insurance, and a referral to someone they have worked with before, who IS insured, bonded, and has passed background checks. These guys are also roofers AND general contractors, so that means a better chance more can get done with less out of pocket costs.
We can't handle too many of those. About to start a gofundme, help us fix our house fund or something, sheesh. The deductible alone is nasty for anyone, let alone people on one income. I know, I should have had that in the bank, and I would have, if he hadn't lost his job. Blar. Life needs to send us good luck!!!!
In about an hour they will be here to do a walkthough and start their bidding process with the insurance, I hope they can manage to work something out where they inflate a tad to help us recoop the costs of the deductible or something. Some places will do that.

thanks dear, I keep saying we need some, then something even worse happens. Oh I know each time it could have been worse, but it would be nice to have a string of GOOD things happen, not bad things that could have been more bad.

@arthurchappell I hope so, but I doubt it, considering how much needs to be done. I know it will costs in total 3-10K, now 3-5ish insurance covers, so hopefully we get get stuff done for that

eh, it's so so, and we are going to have issues coming up with the 1.4k deductible, so we may have to pay someone to do a bit at a time

so far iffy, we need more to fix it than they think is needed, plus the whole 1 job no money for a deductable thing. We shall see

So, what have you found out now? Is that company willing to work with you or not?
Good luck!

Years ago we put in a claim for a damaged roof that caused damage inside. The roof, we found out many years later, cost $10K.....My husband told the ins. co. that he would fix the interior damage and they returned our deductable to us. That happened with a car also - we had the damage fixed at a Chevy place and they gave us the ded. back....we were lucky.
I must have missed something - what is the damage from?

was from a storm, tornado hit town, as best we can tell it went over us, but we still have damage for our porch fence and roof.

he missed stuff! lol, so the contractor is resubmitting the stuff to the insurance, pointing out what they missed and what HE thinks it should cost to cover
