Do you use a pen name online?

Im just confuse if I should use my real name for my online activities. Ive been socializing online for years already but even until now Im not comfortable to post my real name worldwide. But now that I revived my old blog and am planning to post my own fashion sketches Im wondering if it would be wiser to remain behind my pen name or use my real name.
I know there are pros and cons on either way but which will outweight the cons?

I do use a pen name for some things but here it has my name on it. It does not really bother me here. If some one ever gives me the creeps then i will change it i have had someone look me up on facebook before and i did not like that. With the features it has they might find out where i live and i am not having that LOL.

I use a nickname Jessy when I certain things online. But facebook and twitter I use my real name.

Is Jessy your real nickname? Ally is not my real nickname but it can be for my real name and I like it too thats why I use it for my Fb and most of my online sites.

I use my real name. I don't even think about it. But when it comes to sharing my writings, I use my pen name.

@Daljinder Not sure if you call using letters is a nick but not sure what it is called either. It was a common style at one time to use them. So by writings you meant somewhere else?

@Bluedoll This is my nickname. Shortened version of my real name (which I was using when I joined myLot). My "tag" name is my real name.

I use my company name for every online work because it gives some publicity to my company, Sunny Bird E- Solutions. So my nick name is 'Sunny Bird'. I use my initials when it's online education work. It's 'KRRP'. And my real name is 'Ravindu Ramesh Perera'.
Don't afraid to use your real name online if you don't do any wrong thing.

@unnybird I never reported anyone online. If I can handle the situation by myself I will prefer it that way but if things get worst then maybe thats when I will report the issue..

I have 2 pen names i use for anything online. It is more a choice that i have to be annonymous. Plus i love the names i use.
I only reveal my name to those i want.
on sites like this it is good to have a pen name. It makes a person a mystery and u can be yourself with no regrets.
At least that is how i feel.

Same here, I chose to use pen names for mystery tho Im already posting my real pics plus the freedom to express my thoughts and just be real. I love my pen name too that I cant just put it away.

I have nothing to hide so I do post my actual name along with my username here. I don't really understand why anyone would be afraid to post their first name.

Personally its not about hiding something but its about security. We know how we can be vulnerable to bad people online. But on the other hand I just thought my skills/ creation should carry my real name which I am not sure if I have to.

I used @simplewoman at Bubblews then changed it to @acelawrites in the next sites I joined and using it till now. I don't know, I read people using pen names for security reasons. So am using a pen name too.

Same here.My security is my main concern too why I prefer to use a pen name. But Im still open with the possibility that I might use my real name or maybe my initials online. Besides, Im already posting my real pic. So whats the difference I thought.
